Is it possible for a non chatholic Christian to convert and receive last rites if they only have a few hours to live?

I’m church of Christ. My health is failing fast. I called a priest last week and talked. I’m worried if I convert before I die I might be betraying my faith.

But how do you define “your faith”? If you believe that the Catholic Church is the one true church and the sacraments are what they claim to be, it’s best to take that leap of Faith.

In the end, you ought to be thinking about what God might want you to do. Pray hard about it, and then decide.

God Bless You.

Nah, you’ll be entering the Truth faith.

I don’t mean that to sound rude or snarky, apologies if it seems that way.

I would say that, while I certainly encourage you to convert, doing so out of fear is not best. There must be a reason you felt compelled to call a priest though. Mind if I ask why, since you’re not Catholic. (Again, it’s a good thing, i’m just curious about the why.)

To answer your question, definitely. We will never turn away someone seeking conversion, especially not at the end of their life. We want everyone to enter Heaven, and we believe that the best hope you have of that is to be in communion with Christ in His Church. As with the parable of the workers of the field, it doesn’t matter if you work for the whole day, or for one hour; what’s important is that you work. ^^

while in bed I have been watching etwn. I like a lot of the teachings though some are strange to me purgatory the emphasis on marry. I probably should have acted sooner but I did not believe I was dying.

Yes, and it is a beautiful thing. The priests who are able to bring people into the Church in their final hours are overjoyed.

Purgatory is Biblical, and Mary is the mother of your Savior.
It’s no wonder you are drawn to EWTN.
Everyone has a guardian angel Yours loves you and wants you to be at peace.
Prayers offered for your health, dear.

Gonna call the priest my body is wasting and clearity of thought is getting harder. Praying I can hold on till one gets here.

Thank You.

No worries, it’s never too late this side of eternity. I pray that your clarity holds while the priest comes.

God bless you. I pray for you, and I pray that I will one day to get meet you before our lord ^^

Monday is kind of a universal “day off” for priests.

Google your city+state + “Catholic Diocese”. Call the main number and ask for the office Clergy or of Evangelization or of Faith Formation.

Explain to them your situation, they will get a priest to you.

I remember reading that King Charles II of England, an Anglican, converted to Catholicism on his deathbed.
