Then got to university, i feel like i am being bombarded by ignoramuses.
given that you havent completed university yet, while most of us have, has it occurred to you that we may not be the ones who are ‘ignoramuses’?

Just take a look at the “photoshopped” pictures of polar bears in Al Gore’s movie.

All those little kids are irrevocably traumatized for life … by a bunch of fake visuals.
Fake visuals, aka lying, is nothing new.

I see you have been. So you can ignore the above, i only have one question for you. How have you verified your religious beliefs?
You are asking the wrong question from the start. The question is inapplicable in religious domains, just as it is inapplicable in moral domains, mathematical, and logical domains. My beliefs are self-evident and justified. And they are not required to be met by your completely unspecified empirical standards of warrant. So I am not playing this game with you.

So if emirical standards are your only standards of warrant, let me ask you this: how have you verified that scientific theories are even *approximately *true since all past theories have come out false? You need to be answer this question to countenance any standard of reliability for scientific methodology before requesting everyone’s beliefs stand up to empirical standards of warrant which scientific theories have continually failed themselves. So do you see the dilemma? I am not even sure scientific methodology as anything to do with truth at all–only with predictive power, utility, and control. But as we know, usefulness is no guide to truth, because one can have many useful and false beliefs. This is my concern for which you’ve failed to answer numerous times.

If you don’t understand it, how could you possibly explain it in a larger, more complex context of which you are necessarily even more ignorant?

Is that how modern philosophers operate, with pretense and unwarranted assurances in the face of their own ignorance---- like politicians?
Oh please…you didn’t even get the point of my post.

It’s very apparent your accusation is a classic case of self-projection here. Just listen to yourself talk–having **“pretense and unwarranted assurances in the face of his own ignorance.” ** You don’t even know me, so keep your mouth shut, Sherlock.

So instead of accepting individual opinions and conclusions let us do just that - try and links and www.answersingenesis.org and links - twinc
I am sorry, but creationism is an opinion and an interpretation of the bible. We are not going to solve the world or the Catholic churches problems by guilt tripping people in taking everything in the bible literally. The catholic church does not have a problem with the idea that the world is billions of years old; and as far as i know Catholic schools teach evolution. Correct me if i am wrong? It seems to me that the Catholic authorities on faith issues have a healthy respect for scientific discovery.

Heres a link for reading purposes. I am not interested in debating this issue.

Oh so that fact that i have choose to study past degree level is a bad thing? I could have left with a degree a long time ago.

yes, because you keep acting as though no one understands science but you. its not some big mystery, they teach it to every highschool kid in the states.

Many people understand it, however many don’t. Oh and if you think that you have an understanding at highschool level, well that says a lot.

just about everybody understands stands it. its entirely simple and elementary. your contention that people who dont agree with you, just dont understand ‘science’. is false. 🙂

Actually very few people understand it. They just think that they do. I know lots of people with science degrees that do not understand the method, you do not even start to learn how to carry out research until you have studied past degree level. With the first stage being Honors in the UK, then MSC, and PhD.

i have no idea what they do in the UK as far as education. over here the scientific method is taught in highschool, and expounded on in college. no one here can graduate with a degree in the hard sciences without a proper understanding of the scientific method. and that is just a bachelors degree.
