Decline of religious belief means we need more exorcists, say Catholics

Obviously satan has found a way to influence the young people of today, he is pretty darn successful at this, its strange God and the CC are having so many problems in this regard…?? Satan knows what he has to do in order to sway their views, opinions and feelings, and does just that.

Its only logical God and the CC would be doing the same thing…trying to sway them towards good and just, but doesnt seem to be working too well, why do think this is?

I apologize - I think my earlier post was misinterpreted. I don’t believe this is a PR move by the church. My comments were concerned with how those people outside of the church would interpret this topic. My point was that people who are non-believers generally don’t believe in anything supernatural - so surely they don’t believe in exorcisms. So if the church is going to convince non-believers to believe by hiring and training more exorcists, this will likely be met with bemusement by non-believers. That was the point I was trying to make.

It is kind of you to bring up concern for those who are non-believers. The Church’s reason for bringing back the office of Exorcist in numbers isn’t a PR move nor is it to convince anyone, non-believers or atheists or Protestants or even Catholics to believe that which we have always known and taught, i.e. that there is a need for the Office of Exorcists in the world today, as always. We don’t just hire Exorcists, we make them by conferring on them the Office and give them the Authority to act on Christ’s behalf in this capacity. It is a genuine Ministry and it is one that Jesus sent many out to do, not just the Apostles. Without it the persons who are genuinely afflicted by devils suffer without remedy. This needs to be addressed. That’s all.
