If you are going to make a statement that Vatican 2 is the cause of people leaving the Church, please back it up with evidence.

I will be more than a bit surprised if you can; more likely it will be due to things that happened after Vatican 2, that had nothing to do with the documents.

Open your eyes and see whats around you. Have you not seen the church of today separate the traditional catholics from it’s modern follower? Does not the word Catholic mean “Universal” ?We don’t need a “global one world religion” we all ready have one! The Roman Catholic Church is Universal-for all to embrace sooner or later if they want to be saved. Documents aren’t everything. Remember our Catholic Faith is also traditional.

Yes, of course not very many around anymore who had first hand experience with the way the church was and should be today. Roman Catholics are bound to the true teachings of the catechism or else they are heretics-they can’t even pick or choose because that would be indiffrentism. Belief and Faith are not the same thing for faith requires action! Believing means you just go on your merry way doing whatever makes you “feel right” of which is one of the 5 senses, of which the ENEMY will trap you with, since that is the only way he can attack us! Thus if we remain steadfast and OBEDIENT (even blindly) we shall remain with the Lord. The things that are happening now to our church coincides with scripture Luke18:8 “When the Son of man comes,will He find faith on earth”?

 Why do so many quote from the bible?.....somewhere in there it says its a sin to kill a chicken or a duck. Mary was 12/13 years old having Jesus.(goes against all my moral beliefs)......and slavery is ok.   I also remember reading that God says that the Jews are the chosen people.  Interesting!   Learn to love and accept  EVERYONE....otherwise....thats why the world will always be in a mess.   "I am right you are wrong attitude"   too much  brain cleansing.  Thank God I broke away from that! I am not conservative and I don’t believe because being born (by the luck of the draw) into a western culture that is mostly Christian (at this time) is better then anyone else. I have many Jewish and Muslim friends and to the many other religions throughout the world I again look at myself as being equal. Most of us were taught only about one religion, never to learn about what the rest of the world is about. Thats sad. “I’m right your wrong” attitude/belief

Teaching world religions in all schools is a much better approach and as people become adults make their own conscious decisions of what they want to believe, not what our parents indoctrinated us into. Jews, Muslims, Hindus etc. the same thing. Lets learn about others and their way of life rather then quoting from the bible that only Christ followers will be saved and all others banished. Whats the upside to saying things like that. The world is only becoming more fragmented every year. THATS VERY SAD.

I have three adult children. If you could turn back the clock we would have not baptized our children as infants. We would have taught them right from wrong and let them decide for themselves whats important to them. This is currently a growing trend among families. Read my post about Baptism statistics.

The Catholic Church teaches that we are all made in the image and likeness of God and equal in human dignity. It also teaches that there is Truth. Jesus Christ is this Truth and wants all mankind to know His Truth. This is the mission of His church. He has revealed this Truth through the Church He established. You are free to accept or reject the gift of salvation through Jesus Christ. God gave every person the gift of freewill.

If any one individual is saved by Jesus Christ’s sacrifice on the Cross, it is through His Church that He established. If my stepson, a Protestant minister, is saved, it is through the merits of Jesus Christ through His Church, the Catholic Church. If my Buddhist relatives, on my husband’s side, are saved, it is through the merits of Jesus Christ through His Church. Jesus Christ is the Judge.

Holy Scripture teaches there is one Lord, one Faith, and one Baptism. There are not many Faiths all teaching the Truth. The full Truth is contained in the Church Jesus Christ established when He promised “Upon this rock I will build my Church and the gates of hell will not prevail against it.” Other faiths can have some of the truth, but don’t contain the full truth. There are many beautiful truths found in the religions of the world, but not the full truth found only in the Catholic Church that Jesus Christ established. There are also a heck of a lot of errors in many faiths of the world. The Catholic Church is commissioned to go out to the whole world and baptize all nations teaching all that Jesus Christ commanded.

Most people don’t knowingly want only some of the Truth, but some don’t even know if Truth exists. This is sad. Is it possible for people who don’t know the whole truth to be saved? Yes, it’s possible.  Living in fear is not for me or most baptized catholics.  Thats why church attendance is declining rapidly and most don't go.    SCARE TACTICS!   and narrow minded brain cleansing.

It’s more than just a quote. It is the Old Testament. Salvation came through the Jews. Jesus Christ included all mankind into the New Testament when he established His Church. We are all His chosen people now. Of course we have free will and can reject his gift.

The priests I know are as angry as me about the priests who victimize children. The Pope is cleaning out the “filth”. Jesus Christ said what would happen to those who harm little children. He also taught that the wheat and the chaff are together in his Church. He promised to separate them. Wherever there is good, there will also be evil working to destroy it. That is what our life is about. It’s a spiritual war. The filth in the Catholic Church works to destroy the Church. Jesus promised the gates of hell would not prevail against His Church.

This is not exactly true. ALL of the FSSP priests that say the Traditional Mass have semons on everthing you listed. You will NEVER hear a" feel good "sermon. They ALWAYS instruct the congregation on the faith. These watered down sermons are a direct result of Vatican II.
Besides declining attendance, what has caused the priest shortage? Why do only 30% that attend the OF believe in the Real Presence and only 25 % of Catholics go to Mass on Sundays. The problem is the failure of the priests to instruct the faithful on the teachings of the Church.

And the priests at my parish–who celebrate a reverent OF Mass–also give excellent homilies. Being a good, orthodox teacher of the faith does not depend on the Mass you celebrate.

If you showed charity, maybe others would see Christ in you. Prayer for them can do a lot more good than curses. Teach the truth. You are not presenting the truth of the Catholic Church.

Catholics as you can see can be a very diverse lot. If you ever do want to really know what Catholic teaching is, go to the source and read the Catechism together with the Holy Bible. Many Catholics are poor examples of Christians and will have a heck of a time at the judgement. Pray for us. Peace.

Yes - they were chosen to be the ancestors and the race of Christ. But they rejected Him when He came, so He came out to the Gentiles (us!), until the Jews will finally be converted.

The fact that people sin doesn’t make Jesus any less real, or His Church any less necessary - in fact, it drives home the point that we are all completely helpless in our sins - even the most holy among us can fall, and fall badly. We need Him to save us!! We cannot save ourselves. It does matter Who we believe in, because when we take our eyes off of Him, and do what seems right in our own eyes, we fail. If a Bishop can sin, then how do you know you’re all right? We all need the Sacraments of Jesus Christ, and we all need to pray every day.
