Ok, during Art Class, we had to draw and then paint a person we look úp to and I did Pope Saint John Paul II. Is it ok to dedicate the painting to him?

Catholicism isn’t counter-rational. It may be super-rational at times, but not counter-rational. God designed us in His image-- He is, He knows, He loves. Thus the spirit exists, and has as its two functions, intellect and will. God does not play a practical joke on us by making us rational, having an intellect and all, and then promptly making the natural order to be counter-rational (although again, it may be above reason, it is not contradictory to perfect, pure reason).

Did you ever look at a book dedicated to the author’s friend, hero, or own mother? Did it cross your mind that it was a bad thing to do? Of course not. You know it is reasonable. Take comfort therefore in knowing that dedicating something to someone you love, living in the flesh or only in the spirit, is not a sin. “Love one another as I have loved you.”
