Hello fellow Catholics,

I have recently been thinking of this painting though I’ not sure who the painter is. It is without an amazing piece of art and the symbolism is beyond this world; yet I do find this one portion of the painting very disturbing. It’s where Christ is with the devil and if you look closely, the devil puts his arm into Christ’s cloak if that is the correct term to call it.

I would like to ask you guys what you think this means??
 
The then Father Robert Barron in his “Catholicism” series showed this picture you told about, and explained it. It made perfect sense…but I do not remember what he said!

Hopefully someone else can explain.

Not sure that the person’s arms the devil has put his arms through is supposed to be Christ. I think this person is supposed to be the anti-Christ who the devil is influencing by whispering lies into his ear.

Are you sure?? I thought for sure that would be Christ…
