christianity does not teach that. anyone who started a war against enemies was sinning gravely and not following the gospel. we’re supposed to love our enemies.
It’s a good thing Charles Martel preached love to the invading Arab armies at the battle of Tours.

Oh, wait he smashed them and saved Europe from Islamization.

The sword is why we’re free to worship our God. He had he failed history would have turned out very differently.

Make no mistake, Islam is an enemy.

Look how they settle (minor) differences amongst themselves (shia vs sunni); with death and violence.

What compassion could you expect from them towards us?

Stop parroting the leftist propaganda that Islam is somehow benevolent; it never was nor ever will be.

“Islam”, as a teaching, is one enemy of the Church among countless others. “Followers of Islam” are our brothers and sisters gone astray. There is a big difference between Islam and followers of Islam.

Some other powerful enemies of the Church (or truth) are secularism, materialism, and communism. Again, secularists, materialists, and communists are our brothers and sisters gone astray. The real enemy is the lie they follow. And speaking of lies, isn’t another name for Satan, the deceiver, the father of lies? That seems to point to the real enemy, the great deceiver himself who spawns all these false teachings.

Here’s what the Church actually teaches about Islam:
Nostra Aetate:
The Church regards with esteem also the Moslems. They adore the one God, living and subsisting in Himself; merciful and all- powerful, the Creator of heaven and earth,(5) who has spoken to men; they take pains to submit wholeheartedly to even His inscrutable decrees, just as Abraham, with whom the faith of Islam takes pleasure in linking itself, submitted to God. Though they do not acknowledge Jesus as God, they revere Him as a prophet. They also honor Mary, His virgin Mother; at times they even call on her with devotion. In addition, they await the day of judgment when God will render their deserts to all those who have been raised up from the dead. Finally, they value the moral life and worship God especially through prayer, almsgiving and fasting.

Since in the course of centuries not a few quarrels and hostilities have arisen between Christians and Moslems, this sacred synod urges all to forget the past and to work sincerely for mutual understanding and to preserve as well as to promote together for the benefit of all mankind social justice and moral welfare, as well as peace and freedom.
