One of the unfortunate results of the Reformation (especially in these days as ecumenical efforts are the norm) is that many Catholics experience an inappropriate sort of “Reformation guilt” and tend to view their own side as seriously at fault. While this is true to some extent (heck, it’s even in the introduction to the Catechism of Trent), it must not be overstated or used to justify Herr Luther’s actions. 😉

Yep. I have seen some apologies from Lutherans but nothing from the later added on protestant sects. Heck, they think Lutherans are pretty much catholic.

Herr DOKTOR Luther.

This was a guy who sat around at night thinking, “Hm, all of those popes and councils and theologians said the opposite of what I teach for centuries and centuries. Could I possibly be right while everyone else has been wrong? Mmmm… yeaaah, obviously.” We cannot forget such a man’s complete title. :p:p:p
