Obviously, I did not. And my position vis-a-vis The Catholic Church is well documented here, and I trust is FAR superior and more positive than your view of the denomination that my congregation is affiliated with; any “anti” claims would be appropriate to you than to me.Scripture never once so much as even mentions The Catholic Church. Not once. Ever. Not for anything, about anything, concerning anything. In any context. Even so much as in passing about nothing at all. While we are to uphold the truth, this verse says nothing about we - or any group, organization, body, institute, denomination, congregation or anything else thereof - being normative. For anything.
SO much of what I post is ignored. Oh, well…I will only address one thing which seems to loom large in your remarks. You stated that scripture nowhere mentions the Catholic Church. You make the mistake of contending that scripture’s remarks do not apply to the Catholic Church because you fail to find the word Catholic in your English translation of the bible.
If I stated that I’m the most handsome guy in the world, and I position my entire apologetic on “Jesus said that!” I have a hunch you’d ask the appropriate and necessary question: “Where?” If I responded, "Well, actually, Jesus never so much as said my name or even once use the term “handsome…” I just think you’d either regard my claim as entirely unworthy of consideration or perhaps that I was less than honest.
As to the copy-and-paste, it’s just reveals a bit of poor grammar. Adjectives are not capitolized in English. And an adjective does not equate to a proper name. If I said that my car is awesome, and in 2079 Toyota came out with a sports car with the proper name of “Awesome” I think you’d agree it would be absurd to state that I owned the first Toyota Awesome in 2010. The adjective “catholic” - which your author reveals was never used by Christ or any Apostle - means “whole” “general” “universal” “all-inclusive.”
Your whole apologetic is based on “Jesus promised all these remarkable things specifically, particularly, exclusively and perpetually to The Catholic Church - and to it alone.” Problem is: you can’t find a single verse where He so much as MENTIONED it. Or infalliblity. Or unaccountability. Or any of the things you said He promised to it. I’d have a MUCH better bit of apologetics with my claim that I’m the handsome one, my name at least appears in the Bible (it just doesn’t happen to be me) and the word “handsome” apprears in the Bible (it’s just not in reference to Josiah).
