This should not be a difficult one!

Philosophically define God.

on your mark get set…GO!
hmm, I think that a proper description of God cant be fullfiled but in my opinion, one could try to described God in three words:

-The Being: The almghty Creator
-The Inteligent Disegner: The maker and shaper of the universe, and of everything.
-and a Father: That because of his endless love is willing to get closer to us and intercede in our lifes.

Defining that which we can not fully understand with the capasity of our feeble mortal minds is impossible.
I win! Do I get a prize?

God is what there can be no though greater than he. If we can think of something greater then what we thought of as God then it was not god. In other words, God is in His greatness beyond Human comprehension, yet He is simple that our words cannot describe adequately.

Isn’t that what I just said?

It isn’t difficult - it is utterly impossible 😃

God cannot be defined - but can be known, though* extremely *incompletely 🙂

The notion of “defining” God is itself not applicable - for only what is finite, that is, what has *fines *(= limits), can be de-fined. Concepts referring to God can be helpful, but they are not themselves God. It is much easier to say what God is not, than to say what God is. It is also possible to ascribe certain attributes to Him - but He infinitely exceeds what can be known of Him; He is God, not a bundle of ideas about God. All our thoughts about Him are miserably short of the Reality 🙂

Besides, human language is also limited - it hasn’t the resources to speak of the God Who is “beyond” limit; it cannot avoid stumbling & stuttering, because it is both itself limited, & is spoken by us limited beings. This is why Christian faith is in a Person, & not in anything made of words; & why revelation & faith are so important in Christianity.

If the reality of human persons cannot be exhausted by what is said about them, how much more is this true of God, Who is God and, is Three-Personed !

As has been said already in the thread: “God is”. 🙂

I think the best classical philosophical definition I’ve come across of God is that God is both the necessary Being and the First Principle. Despite the collapse of ‘ontotheology’ the medieval view of God as the perfect, infinite reality from which all existence comes from has a certain elegance and beauty in its concepts and expression which I don’t think has been surpassed. The classical theists also had a good sense of God’s mystery and infinity, combined with a whole way of life.

Thank you for rephrasing,

I think it is difficult and near impossible but I sincerely am not trying to prove a point by asking. I am trying to gather info on what other peoples ideas or definitions of God are.

I think that people’s responses above have attested to the fact it is very difficult, but again i am not trying to prove a point just merely placing the question.
Then why did you write
This should not be a difficult one!
🤷
