I can’t speak for the Congresswomen but all the times I’ve been told to “go back to where I came from”, it was never to NJ. I don’t know if President Trump is a racist or xenophobe but I do know that he speaks their language.

You’re the one who brought up illegal and their kids I was responding to your comments
Actually, I never said illegals. I said immigrants.
They aren’t the same thing.
The President was referring to sending naturalized citizens back–at least, those are the only progressive female members of Congress I know of who have a country to “go back” to.
If he didn’t mean that, he was referring to progressive female members of Congress who are native-born citizens. That would be even worse.

By the way, Jeanne_S, does it bother you at all that he was only angry that female members of Congress have some real chutzpah to suggest they have ought to have (name removed by moderator)ut on how the government runs?

Trump definitely shouldn’t have said something like that and even if it wasn’t racist, it isn’t exactly becoming. It would be best to dissociate from this side of Trump at least.
Now don’t mention the Left, because having dignity for dignity’s sake is something to consider.
Exactly. Conservative voters would do well to tell him in no uncertain terms that he has no business telling any Americans from anywhere that their elected representatives to Congress don’t belong there. I don’t care what kind of “-ism” it comes from, that is out of bounds.

When I hear that kind of garbage said about congressional representatives from rural states and districts, it really boils me.

I wish more people who voted for him would step up and tell him when to put a sock in it and quit making excuses for him. (Don’t even get me started on AOC. I know she’s in the House and not the Senate and it has always been a little Wild West in there, but she needs to learn some decorum, too.)

Oh so now you are inferring he’s a mysoginist and a racist 🤨
That’s your term, not mine. I did no name-calling in that post. I simply asked whether it bothered you that he singled out progressive women instead of calling out all the progressives? If he wasn’t singling out those particular women he’s been accused of singling out, then he was calling out the women and not the men. You can’t have your argumentative cake and eat it, too.

Really, I don’t know how anybody reads that series of tweets and defends it. Just say he needs to take it back and put a sock in it with that kind of over-the-top garbage.

Feel better now?
Feel better about what?

No. I don’t “feel better.” I continue to be disappointed, even though you’d think I’d be numb to the President by now. We have a President with no sense of decorum, who has now even stooped to telling elected members of Congress that they have no place voicing their opinions about “how our government is to be run”, implying they’re actually citizens of some other country, and yet it is the people who dare to say he ought to be called out on it who are somehow the bad guys.

Do you know who I voted for last time? A member of our state legislature. His name is listed with an “R” after it! No, I do not “feel better” about how our President’s brazen lies are defended, how his insulting manner is defended, how his ignorant bombast is defended. It makes me sick to see what is happening to the Republican Party, and that’s how I feel!!!

I wonder what the situation would be if it were Germany located on our southern border, instead of Mexico? The people trying to get into America illegally would be mostly caucasian-looking folks.
A whole lot of them are Caucasian-looking folks. It isn’t their skin color, it’s their illegal entry and the impact on wages that’s the problem.

By the way, Jeanne_S, does it bother you at all that he was only angry that female members of Congress have some real chutzpah to suggest they have ought to have (name removed by moderator)ut on how the government runs?
It has nothing to do with their gender, their race (Tlaib is “white” by definition) or their “(name removed by moderator)ut” on how the government runs. Omar took the side of the Somalis who were killed while murdering American servicemen who were trying to deliver aid to Somalis. She referred to 911 as “somebody did something…” following it up with how they started CAIR to fight discrimination. She favors boycotting a whole people…Israel.

Tlaib couldn’t keep herself from using the “F” bomb in referring to Trump.

This is all okay with you?
