What about being transgender? Having an attraction towards the same sex can only been hidden for so long.

Yeah, and I personally don’t think it should need to be hidden. I don’t think there’s anything wrong with it.

By Junior high people can start questioning if someone may be lgbtq based on how they talk, act or their preferences. Not all lgbtq are alike. But people start to wonder why this guy never talks about girls he finds pretty, not interested in dating any girl, etc.

Yeah, and we need to support them. Because there is nothing wrong with being gay. And it can be really rough to worry about that stuff in high school without there being a stigma about it.

You think a person identify as being lgbtq and identify as Catholic simultaneously

I do. Though the catechism does teach that pursuing a homosexual lifestyle is wrong I don’t think it is. And no one is perfect.

What’s the difference between a homosexual lifestyle and just being gay and celibate?

The lifestyle would be pursuing a relationship rather than being celibate.

Well I would say you should accept it. The Catholic church, I believe, thinks living a celibate life is best for those in that position. I don’t agree with that frankly.

If you’re gay, what are you supposed to do?
Well first off you’re a child of God. In other words, God loves you. And He’ll be there for you to give you strength in this life.

When it comes to actions, we’re not Fundamentalists with conversion therapy. We can realize being gay isn’t a choice. And being gay doesn’t detract from a person’s value.
All people are called to chastity. And I want to stress that all people, not just gay people, are called to this. For many gay people this does lead to celibacy, but I just want to make clear that the Church isn’t specially singling out individuals. Our bodies are temples of the Holy Spirit. We need to respect them. Sometimes that gets really hard, many of us here can attest to that, but it can be done.

You also asked about dating. I don’t have an exact answer to that. (Though my guess would be that dating is ordered to marriage.) But I do know for certain that the value of friendship, people you can count on and depend upon for support, cannot be underestimated.

Speaking as someone giving thought to sexuality, I may be wrong but I’m giving thought, I’ve actually been comforted by knowing the Church’s teaching because I know no matter what I am in regards to sexuality, it doesn’t change who I am. And who I am is a Catholic. Not always a good one, but I’m working on that.

Peace be with you.

Being a man means knowing how to relate to other men who love the things you mention without making them feel like you’re an outsider, even if you don’t like the things they like.
How exactly should a man who doesn’t like sports, hunting or guns relate to a bunch of men who do? How should a gay man relate to a bunch of guys talking about women and how should he respond when they ask him why he doesn’t date women? Should he pretend to like things that he doesn’t just so that he will fit in and not seem like an outsider?

Men who are secure in their masculinity do not treat the type of men you describe as outsiders, unless they continually denigrate the interests of the “stereotypical” man. And this happens ALL OVER THE PLACE. You will constantly find men who dislike sports ripping on how stupid sports are. Well, when you do that, yeah, those men will make you feel like an outsider. But if you don’t, and they are mature, they will not make you feel like an outsider.

And you, for your part, will politely listen to what they discuss, I imagine – since that is another sign of maturity. Maturity on all sides solves a heck of a lot.

And when they ask why he doesn’t date women, “Because I’m gay” is a decent response, that mature men will appreciate.
