Degrees of sin?

Are there only two degrees of sin, venial and mortal? If so, does that mean that a sin like premarital sex is equally “grave” as abortion or rape? And if these are all examples of mortal sin, do they receive the same punishment?

There are degrees of mortal sin and there are degrees of venial sin–just as there are degrees of holiness.
