I get a lot of deja vues, like at least one to two or thee per day. Like today, I was talking to a girl and she mentioned her birthday was in the same month as me. Inside, I automatically knew she had the same birthday as me. It was like reliving as flashback. It was as if I had already known this girl. As if I had already asked her when her birthdate was, had already talked to her but this was my first time. I proceeded to ask her when her date of birth was and no shock - we had the same birthday. She was surprised at how unfazed I was because she was so surprised. Anyway, this is an example that happened today and how real it is for me. Anyone else? I honestly believe it is from God because He was told me things before, some foreshadowing why I can do this. But I am really young and any comments or an ongoing conversation on this would be helpful.

No, that was just an example. It’s not sharing a birthday that’s uncommon. I, amongst everyone else on this planet share a birthday with tons and tons of others. It was an example of a realistic deja vu that occurred today. It was not the point of this post.

I know exactly what you are talking about. I have on many occasions had very vivid dreams that consist of very mundane scenes or conversations. When I wake from my normal dreams, I rarely remember them, but these I remember in great detail. I have a sort of “feeling” about the dream and I know it’s something that’s actually going to happen. Then, sometime later, it does happen. I find myself in a room that is the exact room I saw, which I’d never been in before, or have the exact conversation with someone that I had in the dream, though in the dream I didn’t understand the context of the conversation at all. It’s really weird and creepy and I don’t have any explanation for it. It reminds me of a crime TV show that used to be on that always started with what seemed like a random scene and then takes you back to the beginging to show how the character got there. But unlike those shows, the deja vu moments I’ve gotten are not significant in any way. They are always completely mundane, normal moments in my everyday life. If God was trying to use these visions to grant me some sort of wisdom or guidance, it went completely over my head and all it did was creep me out! I will say, these experiences were far more frequent when I was a teenage and young college student. I also had other sleep-related issues such as sleep paralysis, which I haven’t experienced in a long time.

I’ve probably experienced deja vu a billion times by now and being the introverted thinker I am I would sometimes spend such long amounts of time trying to figure out why I felt like I’ve been in the exact same place/scenario before. I eventually just decided to leave it alone whenever I recognized it. I mean the brain is a very powerful tool which can play many tricks on us! Think about a dream. We think that we have grasped reality and yet every night our brain manages to trick us again into thinking we are in a completely different one. And the reality of hallucinations and memory loss also prove my point. But nowadays when I recognize deja vu, I just say to myself, “Oh hey, that’s weird. I feel like this happened before!” and then continue on with my day. (And I do experience this a lot, even on things which are supposed to be first-time events!) 🙂

I have also experienced deja vu in the course of my entire life. But yes, ther are mostly ordinary, mundane stuff.

Yup, have had plenty of deja vu in my life. I think it is a usual thing, that can be explained by normal workings of the brain. What do the scientists say?

Here’s one reason for it. When you are remembering something, your brain secretes a chemical so the memory isn’t perceived as reality. Sometimes the chemical misfires when you aren’t remembering anything. when it does whatever you are experiencing at that moment will feel like a memory.

I wouldn’t attribute it to anything extraordinary. We tend to remember these as opposed to the thousands of other usual day to day experiences.

Thank you! This is exactly the response I was looking for. I would love to hear more of your insight!

Encounters with God that explained your episode of Deja Vu? I’m not sure I understand what you mean. I can see it in light of a belief you have based on an event. Is taat what you allude to?

Do you have an easy time recalling birthdays, whether they are the family’s or not?

Many years ago my dad explained to me what most Deja’ vu was. He said that our brains receive and process information sometimes faster than we can keep up. That deductive reasoning going on unawares. ;). Well, I’ve had loads of deva vu, with knowing, or seeming to, before someone stated something or those hunches proven true. I’d have to agree with my dad that MOST of the time it it that. But every so often my hunch almost wigs me out. for instance I made the aquaintanvce of a lady at my children’s music school. She started to tell me about her childhood hometown. Although she mentioned the state, she hadn’t told me the towns name, I said it. She looked started. Now, I knew a few town names, most states I know a few, and I suppose it was a lucky guess but I will be sitting on my guesses in the future. :). No more blurting it out!

I have been concerned that in listening to stuff about exorcism that one of the signs is knowledge of the ‘hidden’ or stuf we shouldn’t know. That I am completely uninterested. Although I wish psychics really could locate missing persons for their families sake, but not if its that way. To be avoided.

Few years ago, I had a dream about a guy who is an athlete and somewhat of a celebrity here. In the dream, he and his longtime girlfriend got married. I thought it was weird, why would I have a dream like that. I don’t know him personally or anything, or follow up on him online. He does have a lot of female fans. I’m not one of them, and I’m not interested and know zero about his sport.

A few days later, I saw on the news that he got married a month before it was reported. My first reaction was, this is strange.

It is those sorts of dreams/knowledge, that really doesn’t seem to matter that leaves me scorching my head. What was the point of being given a little peek into perhaps someone’s private happenings? It didn’t matter to you whether this guy was married or not.

One thing though that I was raised on was if your think of someone ‘out of the blue’ or dream of them, consider it a call to pray for that person or their family (especially of they are passed on)… We may never know the reason, but it s a good thing, a most charitable thing to do for another. So maybe this guys guardian angel was permitted to ask a bunch of people through dreams to pray for this famous athlete and his family. I am convinced that prayer for other people has gone down as church attendance has gone.
