What ground rules have you set for your daughter? Hopefully you have been talking about these since she was a very little girl.
For instance, when someone asks your 5 year old “do you have a boyfriend?” Smile and say, “no, boyfriends and dating waits until age 16 in our house”.
Have you said she may date at 15? 16? It is only common courtesy to give your children the house rules, don’t make them up as you go along.
In my family (this was long ago) you could start wearing panty hose at 12. Makeup on stage at 13 (we traveled and performed as a family), no makeup off-stage until age 16. No dating until age 16.
We knew the rules.
