Kind of a flippant dismissal of the only viable opponent of the Party of Death. One should think this out again, because in dissmissing the Repub, you’re supporting the Dems.
Let’s see. The Republicans generally are anti-abortion and pro death penalty. The Democrats are generally pro-abortion and anti-death penalty.

Which one is the Party of Death?

Yes.

Both parties fail catastrophically on at least one issue.

US Abortions (killing of innocents) since 1973: 57,000,000
US Death Penalty sentences carried out since 1973: 2,000?

You tell me which is the “Party of Death”

I’m not convinced that most republicans are pro-death penalty, maybe so. I’d like to see the numbers. I don’t consider myself pro-death penalty, however I think in extreme situations, it may be (become) necessary and “right” for someone to be put to death. I think that the pertinent circumstances in real situations must be considered in order to understand the truth in the Churches teaching on the subject.

I am most definitely Pro-Life, but don’t consider myself a republican any longer… I have become too frustrated with politics to define myself as belonging to one party ideologically. However, for as long the battle lines for abortion, family, and Catholic values line up on the side of Republicans, they will always, always get my vote.

My point is not about statistics, nor about “the lesser of two evils.” It is about a philosophical position. Both sides are proponents of legalized killing regardless of the numbers. Would you rather have had 57,000,000 executions and only 2000 abortions since 1973?

In a perfect world there would be zero of each, but all know about the nonexistence of perfect worlds.
