Demon in a dream?

I’m really serious about this since it’s weird.

I was dreaming about some actor guy that I’m a bit fond of (already an issue there, Hubby and I are tying to be chaste due to some issues) and in the dream the actor guy and I made out.

It was getting heavy when all of a sudden it was like “renounce God and say Satan’s name and this will be so much better” (edited language but y’all get the just of it). I was confused in the dream and then in the dream I yelled out Jesus 3 times and then I woke up.

:confused: I think I had a night seizure to boot (woo the joys of epilepsy) so it’s just strange all the way around. Was it a message or my seizure?

Do Catholics look into their dreams? It’s kind of a big thing from the old fundie protestant way I grew up.

Any ideas?

Maybe in the future you will encounter something like this. It could be a warning…
 
Pray the St. Michael prayer when this happen and forget about it.
 
I hope your ‘crush’ on that actor is not causing real problems in your home…I think many of us can think of a public figure/ celebrity, we kind of have a special crush on, I wouldnt say its wrong, or sinful though, and definitely should not be causing arguments at home, with your very real spouse.

Celebs are for the most part unattainable for regular people like us, I mean, there is very small chance we would be in a position to even meet them, much less start an affair with them. Im sure lots of people fantasize about encounters with certain celebs, but really, whats the chances of that actually happening…I can honestly say, if my wife admitted such a crush, it would not bother me in the least, because I would know theres virtually no chance of it coming to fruition, just see it for what it is…a crush on someone popular.

Now, the dream about renouncing God, that is strange…IMO, that does indeed sound truly demonic, a demon probably now knows about your crush on that particular person…Im not sure where you live or what you do, but if you happen to run into this person in public somewhere along the lines…Id run the opposite way!

Catholics dismiss their dreams as just dreams and don’t try to figure out any kind of message from them. Tonight you may dream you are Glama the Big Game Hunter in Africa; I wouldn’t worry about that one either! :sleep:

God wants to be the first in your heart and wants to be loved passionately.

Also, the dream reveals that you are being tempted but resisting. It signifies that you belong to jesus and are keenly awaire of him as you call out to him in the dream. This is very good.

As you mature spiritually you will have dreams about spiritual issues and warfare that is affecting others that you are to pray for. The strength of our church militant comes directly from the strength of our marriages and family. Most celebrities seem to portray a life of selfish and hedonistic living.

I am guessing there was no color in this dream. This is what I would classify as a spiritual warfare dream. We are all tested daily. Keep you focus on Jesus and clean yourself off with the blood of jesus.

I have also developed the habit to pray for the people Satan uses to try to tempte wih, whether it be to anger, lust, jealousy, or malice.

From the Catholic catechism:

2115 God can reveal the future to his prophets or to other saints. Still, a sound Christian attitude consists in putting oneself confidently into the hands of Providence for whatever concerns the future, and giving up all unhealthy curiosity about it. Improvidence, however, can constitute a lack of responsibility.

I would be VERY cautious about encouraging people to read anything into their dreams beyond, “it was on your mind and your mind is still active while you sleep.”

There was another thread recently where the OP speculated that a particular Saint was messaging her in her dreams. We need to be really careful about encouraging this.
 
I agree. Care is indicated.

I need to write a book and expose my ideas to theologians and scientists.

Maybe in another decade.
