People may have faith. That faith may be weak or it may be strong. Or somewhere in between. When deciding to convert, people are looking for the truth. Satan does not want people to come to the Catholic faith for obvious reasons. Satan and the demons can behave aggressively thinking that they will frighten the person concerned. Why would God permit such a thing especially when a person is looking to become Catholic?
First of all, the existence of evil spirits confirms the existence of the spiritual realm and their existence strongly suggests that if they exist then God too exists. This has the effect of strengthening faith. This is obviously not what Satan wants but it is an example of God permitting evil so that a greater good may come of it. Secondly, it educates people as to the reality of spiritual warfare and can help people to grow in trust in God. It can result in someone like the opening poster reaching out for information from those who have experience and/ or knowledge of what is going on.
