This morning, I woke up to a shakingly bad nightmare. It was also a bit lucid, as though I was not conscience I was dreaming, I could control myself, and it was extremely real. Down to the dust clumps in the corners. Here is the entry I posted in my dream journal, which i’ve kept in case an “epic” dream comes along, so that I can question whether it contains any signs, can someone give me help?:
Horrific Nightmare.
Dreamed I was being stalked by a demonic entity (who I experienced some deja vu with, maybe seen in past dreams?). Entity put cameras over the house and attacked dogs. Told parents in kitchen, my dad was a bit clueless but my mother pointed out something in the hallway and said “You’re being stalked by the mother of that thing”. We sat down in our living room directly outside the hallway, and I prayed to St.Michael, with my mother doing the same in Latin (though she and I don’t know latin, but, I can still recognize it.). I looked and the thing just stood there, down the hallway. After waking up, I realized it was right outside the room where I was sleeping. It was an entity so dark it stood out against the black of the hallway. It was a bit like a slenderman/shadow people mix, VERY tall, maybe 7-8 feet. and disturbing, it had only a slight human form, but it was verry blurred. I screamed St.Michaels prayer once more, and once again it just stood there. Finally, I said “you aren’t welcome here…” and then screamed at the top of my lungs “GET OUT”. The thing dissapeared, but I could feel its dark presence. I closed my eyes, and when I opened them it was directly in front of me, but I was jolted awake by my dog barking at me, which makes it even more disturbing. As I walk past the spot where this entity was (while awake), I still feel it’s presence. It’s an angry presence, waiting for me. I won’t be able to sleep tonight for fear of what awaits me.
Was this a real demonic attack, or just a nightmare? It was unlike any nightmare i’ve ever experienced within my lifetime.
Can someone recommend some prayers?

If the Lord wants you to have a “sign” for whatever it may be, he will be sure that you receive it. You should not seek these kinds of things. Dreams are not messages, but models of the world. If you know you are dreaming, it is a simple logical step to realizing that nothing in your current experience, however unpleasant, can cause you physical harm. There is no need to run from or fight with dream monsters. In fact, it is often pointless to try, because the horror pursuing you was conceived in your own mind, and as long as you continue to fear it, it can pursue you wherever you dream yourself to be. The only way to really “escape” is to end your fear. The fear you feel in a nightmare is completely real; it is the danger that is not.
