Ahh, apologies. I missed the bit in forum rules where perfect grammatical ability was a prerequisite to having your question addressed.

No. But if you ask a ill-spirited question I will treat you the same.

You know well what a demon is.

How deeply do you know?

I don’t want to know.

I forgot to mention one most important aspect of Hinduism. It is the pluck and pick policy of Hinduism. It is this aspect that makes Hinduism so endearing to Hindus and many westerners too. In Hinduism you may follow only those rules which you think are okay for you. The other rules may not be followed.

For example if you think that Krishna is the true God then you follow him. If someone else thinks that Krishna is not God, but Rama is the true God then he/she may follow him. And a third person may think that there is no God. So he will not follow any God. Yet according to Hinduism all three persons are Hindus. This is what Hinduism means when they call it an “Umbrella term”. Notice the inherent contradiction in the beliefs of the three persons - One considers God A as True, the second considers God A as false but God B as true and the third considers both God A and God B as false. Yet, Hinduism considers them all as Hindus. This is the beauty of Hinduism. Making something out of nothing. As a result Hinduism is a religion of contradictions - one man’s god is another man’s devil. Yet they are all Hindus and Hinduism believes in everything however contradictory and nonsensical it might be. In India, a Hindu is a person who is not a Christian, not a Muslim, not a Parsi, not a Sikh, not a Jain or a Buddhist. The rest are all considered as Hindus which include Tribals, Scheduled Castes, Agnostics, Athetists, OBCs etc. In fact a hindu is defined as a person who believes in anything and everything if said in the name of God.

Guess Christians are not so lucky. Imagine if we could only selectively follow only a few of the Ten Commandments. Say only those commandments which we are comfortable with? What a “mass appeal” religion Christianity would be?

Yes it would make Christianity a mass appeal religion like Hinduism is for westerners who like to be keep themselves neck deep in sin. Since Hinduism does not recogise sin or hell, it has great appeal for the westerners. But making christianity pick and pluck would make christianity another way to hell rather than the only way to heaven. It takes guts to be a christian. To deny oneself all the pleasures of the world really needs some class. The key to get to heaven is to accept the free gift of salvation, deny yourself, take up your cross and follow the one who can redeem you - the one and only Jesus Christ.

Now I would like to mention the games the Hindu pundits play. Whenever any calamity befalls a hindu family, the pundit is immediately called for. The pundit will feed nice stories like some God is angry with you and to appease him the family will have to do pujas and give a thousand rupees donation to some temple. The pujas of course will be conducted by our pundit and he will get good bucks for it. After a few weeks when that calamity has passed away and another calamity comes about the pundit will tell that the earlier God is happy with the family but another God has now become angry with them. To rectify this issue the family will have to do some more pujas and give more donations to some temple. This goes on and on since there are 330 million gods in the Hindu religion. The pundit becomes richer and richer but the family poorer and poorer. Hindus are looted in this manner yet the poor fools have blind faiths in the ability of the pundits and their Gods.

I know what a Demon is traditionally.
It’s a supernatural creature deemed to be a “evil” entity

(Please Note: This uploaded content is no longer available.)

And its a pet in World of Warcraft.

The one is a product of humans fears based on millenia old stories, where when something went wrong for natural reasons, a supernatural explaination was thrown in as a half-baked answer. In polytheistic times, the Bad Gods were themselves, or controlled demons. With monotheism they got demoted from gods to fallen angels.

The other is a product of Blizzards Multiplayer online game and actually exists in the form of computer code and pixels on a screen.

Is it ok to say that is a the response of a dumb, egolatric nerd?

Or will I get deleted.

Athiesm is for fools.

Friedrich Nietzsche is one of them.

Nope, thats perfectly in order. It’s a free world. (Well parts of it anyway)

Thanks by the way for the detailed and informative answer.😃

I suppose we could move on to some sort of refutation of my comments on demons by presenting some evidence of their existance rather than simple avoidance and bonhom.

I gather that the fear of “them” affects you in the same way it affected the goatherders of 15000 BC?

I really don’t hang out with people of that IQ level.

Nor athiest nerds.

If you think wearing charms of any kind is demonic why do people wear crucifixes? Also, if polytheistic religions are all demonic, how do you explain the fact that they were around long before Christianity? There was no devil or demons until the Cristians came along. Just curious
Better talk to the Jews about that. Also there are pagan religions that speak of demons as well as their gods. of source my thinking is that their gods are either demons or just non existent/

Pagan Demons were Gods. They had the wings, the superpowers & they were in some cases worshipped, they had the battles against the “Good Gods” Seth, the egyptian, Horus, Thors evil twin brother and countless others.
With Monotheism, all the bad guys had to step down one “rank” so that one god could be above them all. They couldnt get rid of them, they were too ingrained in peoples minds.

They now occupy the place of “real” entities in 2008, as they always have, as a manifestation of succeptable humans fears.
When Hell came into Christianity in the 300’s, they provided a ready population for it and some work for them to do.

cathopologist, better to go to heaven in rags than to hell in embroidery. I see you have chosen the broad road to hell. Tell you what, Lancelot knows Hinduism much much better than you do. Also there is not need for him to refer to stupid sources like wikipedia which anyone can modify anytime, anywhere. Lancelot does not need to refer to external sites for knowledge of Hinduism. He himself is the living encyclopedia of Hinduism.

How is that Lancelot, knows so much about Hinduism? He is from the Hindu heartland of Delhi and his mother and wife are Hindu (or rather were Hindu at one time until they came across the self realization that Salvation is only through Jesus Christ not through some mythological creatures). Lancelot is well conversant with the Hindu scriptures which are all mythogical and sexual rubbish. That is why whatever lancelot says about Hinduism is the closest thing to the Truth. I have mentioned some books below which are written by Hindu Brahmins who left Hinduism. They will explain how hollow and demonic is the religion of Hinduism.
lancelot, you remind me of a fictional character that pretty much sits around a round table, busily typing away information from hate-filled sites and of course questionable “evangelistic” sites. Your rhetoric on Hinduism is common and easily available online, which leads me to doubt the “authenticity of your claim”. But hey, you claim to be a “christian”. Both my parents were from Uttar Pradesh (Gorakhpur and Hyderabad). Even to this day, i shocked my family and friends by renouncing my Brahmin roots to become a Catholic. I have relatives in New Delhi and elsewhere around India; i also visit the country very often whenever time permits (and of course finance).

As a Catholic, i have come across many former Hindus who have also become Catholic or Protestant. But neither one would make ugly remarks about their former religion as you have because they know better about its complexity.

Although many converts from Hinduism disagree on the many aspects of (their former) Hindu rituals and beliefs (as i do), they also know that Hinduism is not what some authors paint them to be. Unfortunately, because of sometimes dishonest evangelistic efforts from the West, some Hindus have fallen prey to the hypnotic process, believing every word the missionary has to tell them about their religion - brainwashing them effectively into thinking that they belong to a “demonic cult”.

That is not how preaching is supposed to be. A preacher should evangelize using honest methods and lead by example. I think you know what i am talking about. It is because of people like yourself, that drive Hindus away from Khush Khabri (in Hindi it means “Good News”) - not towards it. Educated Hindus will find it even more repulsive when they see “christian missionaries” behave this way. It is because of people like yourself that helps hate-mongers achieve their goals. You call this Christian charity? I pity you. You want to help Hindus see the light? Change your attitude.

Now you can go ahead and “bombard”. We’ll see how long you last in this forum. I believe there are rules against bigotry here. If the Mods don’t take action against hate-mongers like you, then maybe i am in the wrong place.

cathopologist, I am convinced that you are still a hindu. I do not believe a single word of waht you are saying. The Bible says, they see and yet they cannot see, they hear but yet do not understand. It reminds me of you. Your following statements give you away,

"busily typing away information from hate-filled sites and of course questionable “evangelistic” sites. Your rhetoric on Hinduism is common and easily available online, which leads me to doubt the “authenticity of your claim”.

I see you are a new member, who has probably joined this site to counter what I am saying. But you may fool some of the people around here, but you cannot fool God. I again repeat, Salvation is only through Jesus Christ not through some myths. That is the essence of Christianity and if a person “who claims to be Christian” has not understood this, then it is totally useless.

2000 years back there lived a man, who was known as a bigot and crucified by this own people. He called the learned people of the day “Brood of Vipers” and went mad in worship places driving out the vendors. He claimed to bring a sword, division and strife in this world. He came to put the chaff into the ever consuming fire. He denouned all religions as false and claimed all salvation came from the Jews. I am sure if you read about him, you will call him the greatest fanatic who ever lived. But was this man a Bigot? (I explained why Jesus (and me) acted in this manner in my earlier article. It is the same reason why thousands of missionaries from west leave everything they have and go to the malaria infested backward contries of the world - to preach the salvation of Jesus Christ. But of course hindus like you cannot understand this, for a Hindu’s mind has been conditioned to believe in everything as true).

About the statment,
“As a Catholic, i have come across many former Hindus who have also become Catholic or Protestant. But neither one would make ugly remarks about their former religion as you have because they know better about its complexity.”

I have already mentioned a few books in my earlier article. There are hundreds of such books. You will come across former Hindus who have exposed their earlier religion.

About the statment,
"That is not how preaching is supposed to be. A preacher should evangelize using honest methods and lead by example. I think you know what i am talking about. I have been in the field of evangelization for the last 16 years. I know the Hindu minds better than you do and that is why we have managed to bring to the light of Christ hundreds of Hindus. Today our group has more hindus than traditional christians. My 16 years of experince has taught me that you cannot bring Hindus to the light of Christ by preaching that Jesus Christ is God incarnate. They already have 330 million God incarnate’s.

About the statment,
“Now you can go ahead and “bombard”. We’ll see how long you last in this forum. I believe there are rules against bigotry here. If the Mods don’t take action against hate-mongers like you, then maybe i am in the wrong place.”

If telling the Truth is biogotry then you are welcome to do what you want. As I said, 2000 years back a man was crucified for preaching such biogotry. And right now in my beloved India, there are hundreds of Catholic and Protestant missionaries being tortured, hacked to death, nuns being molested for preaching this same bigotry which Christ preached two thousand years back. Isn’t it?

Do you know anything about what the Jewish faith and Christianity teach? Hell has been around for since I would have to say before the fall of Lucifer and his followers, were do you think that the Pit of the evil one that was cast down is? Also I would have to say that all the pagan gods are demons they did not move down a nootch they became reconized for what the were.

(name removed by moderator), it is very easy to speak from high places about fanaticism and hate. But that much difficult when you look at the ground realities in India. Each and every thing I have said about Hinduism is true, whether you like it or not. You can cross verify it from any religious christian who comes from a hindu background.

Tell me one thing, in your lifetime have you brought to the Lord even one person? If you have not, then your life has been a waste of time in the eyes of the Lord.

I am sorry to say it, but 90% of christians who are born into the religion (because their parents were christians) do not understand the christian religion. They are totally doomed in life. IN this regard I will quote K.P. Yohanan, founder of Gospel of Asia (GFA) as stated in “Revolution in World Missions”.

*Religion, I discovered, is a multi-billion dollar business in the United States. Entering churches, I was astonished at the carpeting, furnishings, air conditioning and ornamentation. Many churches have gymnasiums and fellowships that cater to a busy schedule of activities having little or nothing to do with Christ. The orchestras, choirs, “special” music—and sometimes even the preaching — seemed to me more like entertainment than worship. I found that believers are ready to get involved in almost any activity which looks spiritual but allows them to escape their responsibility to the Gospel.

One morning, for example, I picked up a popular Christian magazine containing many interesting articles,
stories and reports from all over the world. But that was not all. There were ads for all kinds of products and services: counseling, chaplaincy services, writing courses, church steeples, choir robes, wall crosses, baptistries and water heaters, T-shirts, records, tapes, adoption agencies, tracts, poems, gifts, book clubs and pen pals. It was all rather impressive. Probably none of these things was wrong in itself, but it bothered me that one nation should have such spiritual luxury while 40,000 people were dying in my homeland every day without hearing the Gospel even once.

In his book My Billion Bible Dream, Rochunga Pudaite says, Eighty-five percent of all Bibles printed today are in English for the nine percent of the world who read English. Eighty percent of the world’s people have never owned a Bible. The saddest observation I can make about most of the religious communication activity of the Western world is this: Little, if any, of this media is designed to reach unbelievers. Almost all is entertainment for the saints.

Coming from India, where I was beaten and stoned for my faith, I know what it is to be a persecuted minority in my own country. If we could spend only one minute in the flames and torment of hell, we would see how unloving the so-called gospel is that prevails in much of our churches today. When we go to the Book of Acts, we find the disciples totally convinced about the lostness of man without Christ. Not even persecution could stop them from calling people everywhere to repent and turn to Christ. Paul recognized that Jesus Christ was the ultimate answer to all man’s problems.

In preaching to some of the churches, I made the following statement: “While you claim to be evangelicals and pour time and life into learning more and more biblical truths, in all honesty, I do not think you believe the Bible.” My listeners were shocked. But I continued.
“If you believed the Bible you say you believe, the very knowledge there is a real place called hell—where millions will go and spend eternity if they die without Christ—would make you the most desperate people in the world to give up everything you have to keep missions and reaching the lost as
your top priority.” The problem with this congregation, as with many today, is that they did not believe in hell.

Jesus Himself often spoke of hell and coming judgment. The Bible calls it the place of unquenchable fire, where the worms which eat the flesh don’t die—a place of outer darkness where there is eternal weeping and gnashing of teeth. These and hundreds of other verses tell of a real place where lost men will spend eternity if they die without Jesus Christ.

Only a very few believers seem to have integrated the reality of hell into their lifestyle. In fact, it is difficult to feel that our friends who do not know Jesus really are destined to eternal hell.
Yet as I stressed in the last chapter, many Christians hold within their hearts the idea that, somehow or other, ways of redemption are available to those who have not heard. The Bible does not give us a shred of hope for such a belief. It states clearly that it is “appointed unto men once to die, but
after this the judgment” (Heb. 9:27). There is no way out of death, hell, sin and the grave except Jesus Christ. He said, “I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me” (John 14:6).

Worldliness is an accepted fact of our way of life. Our religious mood is social instead of spiritual.”
The further our leaders wander from the Lord, the more they turn to the ways of the world. One church in Dallas spent several million dollars to construct a gymnasium “to keep our young people interested in church.” Many churches have become like secular clubs with softball teams, golf lessons, schools and exercise classes to keep people coming to their buildings and giving them their tithes. Some churches
have gone so far from the Lord that they sponsor yoga and meditation courses—Western adaptations of Hindu religious exercises.

What would Jesus do if He walked into our churches today? I am afraid He would not be able to say to us: “You have kept the faith, you have run the race without turning left or right, and you have obeyed My command to reach this world.” I believe He would go out to look for a whip, because we have made His Father’s house a den of robbers. If that is so, then we must recognize that the hour is too desperate for us to continue to deceive ourselves. We are past the point of revival or reformation. If this Gospel is to be preached in all the world in our lifetime, we must have a Christian, heavensent
revolution. But before revolution can come, we must recognize the need for one. We are like a lost man looking at a road map. We need to preach again the whole counsel of God. Our priority must again be placed on calling men to repentance and snatching them from hell-fire.

The lesson from the mission field is that human beings remain in rebellion against God without the power of the Gospel. We must keep supreme the priority of sharing the message of salvation with them. This is biblical balance, the true Gospel of Jesus.*

Someone mentioned that my attitude is not right. I cut religions to size and expose the hollowness of these religons. It is because I follow the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Most Christians who are born into Christianity do not understand why God became incarnate as Jesus Christ. they believe somehow all religions lead to the same God and gaurantee salvation. If that is true, then it makes Christ a liar (see John 14:6) and also a fool. If there were other ways to God then where was the need for Christ to sacrifice himself on the cross for our sins? If Christ did not know (that there were other ways to God) then his credentials as God are in serious doubt. If Christ knew that there were other ways to God, then he is a deliberate liar. Which do you believe? The only other possible explaination is that Jesus Christ spoke the Truth. And I believe that Christ spoke the Truth. He is our only hope for salvation. There is no other.

I have mentioned some books below which are written by Hindu Brahmins who left Hinduism. They will explain how hollow and demonic is the religion of Hinduism.

*Some 15 years before his death, Mohandas K. Gandhi the man most people know as Mahatma Ghandhi and the greatest Hindu ever, wrote: “I must tell you in all humility that Hinduism, as I know it, entirely satisfies my soul, fills my whole being, and I find a solace in the Bhagawad Gita and Upanishads.”

Just before his death, Gandhi wrote: “My days are numbered. I am not likely to live very long-perhaps a year or a little more. For the first time in fifty years I find myself in the slough of despond. All about me is darkness; I am praying for light.”*

Gandhi kept praying to Hindu gods but never found the light. That is how hollow Hinduism is. It flatters to deceive. The thousands of westerners who think Hinduism can give them eternal solace will do well to ponder upon the words of Gandhi.

BOCI is shortly bringing out a book called “Hinduism the demonic faith”. Currently you can read their bestselling book the “Sin of Idolatry” at the link geocities.com/yahwehcalls/
ahem I really can’t contribute to this magnificent forum that much, but I can help with this. Gandhi was a monotheist. He didn’t pray to “gods”, he prayed to God. While he was an adherent of Hinduism, a false faith, he did have many things in common with Christianity and Catholicism.
