Is it easy to get an exorcist? Don’t you have to go through the Diocese?
I seriously doubt it would be that easy:rolleyes:
If this is real, which being the internet is not a given…
Yep, this came up on another exorcist type thread I was on. Forums are no place for real advice on subjects like this. Its amazing how willing people are to say to someone on the internet, ‘Yes, sounds like your possessed’, ‘you’ve got a demon in your house’ based on scant and unverified information. If this isn’t a troll he should speak to the *appropriate *people. The fact that he made his way here to write about it suggest he knows that already…🤷

Stress alone could could most symptoms, especially the family issues. Even just sleep aids can cause lucid dreams similar to whatever the OP described of the creature in the closet. I’ve spoken to a priest about a friend claiming similar “demonic” interactions, and he said it was almost certainly caused by stress.

Skepticism is the only appropriate response. If it is a mental health issue or medical issue, then it is extremely unethical and superstitious (and thus sinful) to suggest that holy water or an exorcism would solve the problem.

If it is a troll poster, then the post should be completely ignored.
Skepticism is the last appropriate response in my opinion. This is just due to the sheer number’s in the legion. Our Lord pulled 2,000 of them out of 1 person!!! How many must there be for the enemy to have time for that.

On top of that they have been at this for a LONG time. They know how to cover their tracks very well. It is a chess game not checkers. If they can get you to believe their influence was just stress why wouldn’t they? They are smarter than you and have been doing this for how long remind me. Oh yeah since we were created.

Exorcism and possession should be met with sceptisism. Oppression should not. Oppression is very common.

There are many modernized priests that will attribute it to say “stress”. What if they are wrong?

What harm could it do to not meet this with sceptisism? It’s not like we are recommending a exorcism from a self-proclaimed exorcist. It will be a while before he can talk to an exorcist face to face and his experiences do not seem to be from stress if you ask me. What if a demon influences the priest to say it is stress?

An exorcist is necessary to diagnose the problem. He won’t be able to meet with one for a while because in the “modern” Church there are not many around.

He already stated he tried to talk to a priest the priest didn’t believe him because the priest has been modernized and is quicker to trust science than scripture. The priest has no reason not to believe him. Unless of course he is an exorcist, which I highly doubt.

Read “An Exorcist Tells His Story” by Father Gabriele Amorth; Chief Exorcist of the Vatican.

He talks about exorcisms, and how many priest usually are reluctant to believe in demonic oppression, and possession. He mentions demonic oppression, and to me this seems to be your problem. You should definitely seek an exorcist, because he will believe you and may assist you with your your torments. He can help your family find peace. Go to confession, and participate in the sacraments as much as you can. Have faith and pray to Our Lord, pray the rosary with devotion for Our Lady’s intercession, and to St. Michael for his assistance. Get Holy water, to sprinkle it with prayer when something like this shows up. You must have faith, because it is only through faith that the Lord can heal you.

St. Michael the Archangel,
defend us in battle.
Be our defense against the wickedness and snares of the Devil.
May God rebuke him, we humbly pray,
and do thou,
O Prince of the heavenly hosts,
by the power of God,
thrust into hell Satan,
and all the evil spirits,
who prowl about the world
seeking the ruin of souls. Amen…

Our Father, Who art in heaven,
Hallowed be Thy Name.
Thy Kingdom come.
Thy Will be done, on earth as it is in Heaven. Give us this day our daily bread.
And forgive us our trespasses,
as we forgive those who trespass against us.
And lead us not into temptation,
but deliver us from evil. Amen.

Hail Mary,
Full of Grace,
The Lord is with thee.
Blessed art thou among women,
and blessed is the fruit
of thy womb, Jesus.
Holy Mary,
Mother of God,
pray for us sinners now,
and at the hour of death.
Amen.

This is just a quick-and-dirty cut-and- paste, but several people here have found this very helpful, and a good place to start:

Here is a good place to start:

saint-mike.org/ is a controversial site, but I have found good info there, particularly the deliverance prayers, especially the Hedge Prayer, and the 7 steps to self deliverance.

Do some digging, and you will also find their Spiritual Warfare Prayer Catalog. I can tell you with complete certainty, the Hedge Prayer works. But it’s just one weapon. You will very likely need to build up an entire arsenal. The St. Michael Chaplet is another powerful weapon, and works well, if prayed fervently, and daily. You probably won’t notice the effect for a while, but if you ever stop, you may very likely see what you’re missing. You can pray it on a regular Rosary.

If you are Catholic, attend Mass and confess often. The Sacraments are everything the Church says they are, and more. Unfortunately, it took me many years to understand this.

Divine Mercy Chaplet. This is powerful as well, and can be prayed on a regular Rosary.

Recite the Scriptural version of the Way of the Cross. Every night, before bed. This too is a powerful form of prayer.

Buy at least two Rosaries, and have them blessed by a Priest. Wear one around your neck at all times. Look into the Brown Scapular as well. You might want to buy at least one unbreakable Rosary to wear.

If you really want to go thermonuclear, buy a nice statue of Blessed Mary, have it blessed by a Priest, and keep it by your bed. Buy two or more Crucifixes, and have them blessed as well. Hang one over your bed, where you sleep. Sleep with a blessed Rosary in one hand, and a blessed Crucifix in the other.

Pray at least every morning and every night, for yourself, your family, your friends, etc. Pray to Blessed Mary, and ask Her to guide you.

Find a Priest who knows how to exorcise water and salt, not just bless it. Once he exorcises both the water and salt, he can mix some salt with the water, and say a third blessing over the combination. THAT… is Holy Water at it finest. Also, shake a moderate amount of exorcised salt on your supper, or in a glass of drinking water. This little added touch really helps.

Keep in mind that our state of sin, and our attachment to sin, is exactly what makes us vulnerable to demonic torment. Sincere and heartfelt Confession is one of the most powerful weapons we have. In addition to being absolved of our sins, we receive immense healing graces which will, over time, chip away at our attachment to sin, and our sinful habits. Confession also allows us to gain far more from praying and receiving the Sacraments, and adds a great deal of clarity and content to our prayers. The more pure our spirit is, the more powerful our prayers will be. Confession also allows us to remain in tune with our conscience, provided we listen to it, and follow it.

Above all, I would look at this as an opportunity to come closer to God, and hopefully to Blessed Mary as well. Things may even get a bit worse at first when you begin to fight back, but persevere. Consider this a gift from God. And persevere

Please, know that you are not alone, and feel free to PM me if I can help.

Say a Rosary before bed and sleep with it. Mary crushes Satan and she will protect you if you ask her to. Holy Water, Benedict Crucifixes, all that stuff is surely helpful, but the strongest thing is to have a confident relationship with Mary and Jesus to make sure they have an active role in your life and they will protect you.

Outstanding. 👍

I agree with the above poster. Tektonik wins. Flawless victory.

I fell away from the Church at a young age. As such spent years never talking to Mary. I have talked to everyone I could think of that is with the God about this at the time that I prayed about it and I would like to think everyone forgave me because I instantly felt better.
I also spent nearly my whole life never talking to the Archangel Michael. I think he forgave me too. I bear witness that even when I did not have a relationship with them they still protected me. Very well, I might add.

Okay, I will post a reply at length after a while, but I need to respond quickly to some inaccurate and dangerous information provided by FaithInTheSon. (Mind if I call you FITS or Fitz?)I am referring to this:
The name of the Lord is quite powerful, and one should never hesitate to call out to Christ in faith at the first sign of demonic troubles. It has saved me from many spiritual dangers both ordinary and extraordinary even at a time in my life where I didn’t truly know the lord. I would however avoid making direct commands (Or any other form of communication) to the demon. Cry out to God and he will save you. I will post much more tomorrow, but this couldn’t wait.

In Christ,
Iggy

I agree with you totally. But this is just one of several false beliefs being put forth by people who may be well meaning but just don't understand.

To the OP, was the house blessed before you moved in? Also "poltergeist" is a name of a phenomena that occurs in various places throughout the world. That means this is not a German phenomena or German anything.

But the type of events the OP describes really negates any lay person barging in this situation directly. Furthermore, your parents only have authority to call a priest or the diocese to come to the their house.

You need to be speaking with your parents. If there exists a conflict of some sort that makes this unpleasant or hinders you from doing so, then I assure you that this needs to be addressed, possibly even first. It could be magnifying the whole issue or even the root cause.

Whatever the case the OP needs to address these concerns with their parents.

catholicwarriors.com/pages/warfare_prayers.htm

These are powerful prayers. Start with the prayer for a spiritual canopy then prayer against malefice. Don’t just say them, pray them, put feeling and meaning into it as you go.

Pick which ones you feel might help you and pray them, out loud. I would pray them all 3 times. There’s a reason for 3 times so do it.

I would reccomend the healing the family tree prayer as well. I noticed the difference the very next day with my family.

Justin…

If you PM me your email address I’ll send you a 2 page prayer that covers the lot. This one was written by Father Gabrielle Amorth himself.

It is not false. The demon does not have to listen to him if he does not know the Lord.
If he cries out he will be saved by the Lord but unable to command a demon to leave in the Lords name (the Lord could chose to do this anyways). It is dangerous to try and the demon normally pretends to leave to prevent the person from establishing dominion.

It was unclear and misleading though.

EDIT: often, they will overtake the person too… but from what I understand (and I’m no expert) they normally try to trick people.

What I have learned over the years is that the Lord gives us signs and warnings that we or loved ones are spiritually under attack. So when you get to see the dense black figures, and the hand etc it is God allowing you to see. Your Oma has already be shunted out the door of your home because she knows and is seen by the demon as a threat to the continuing existence of diabolical forces in your home. God has allowed your Oma to experience this.

There is no validity in the existent of poltergeist, there is validity in the existence of the diabolical forces of fallen angels - demons.

In light that negative experiences that have occurred when your family first moved into the house, it leads to the possibility that a door has been opened prior to your family moving into the house. For future reference when you move into a place of your own get it blessed before you move in.

It is unfortunate that you have not received any spiritual direction from your parish priest, this is not uncommon. Try to get the whole family to confession, it needs to be sincere and honest. Confession can be more effective than exorcism itself. If you can achieve this then you may have resolved the problem.

Next I would advise you to contact the diocese Bishop and explain the situation briefly and ask for the assistance of deliverance laity and the exorcist priest. It is true that you need to talk to your parents, however the laity may be able to discuss with you or your parents that the occult is not the only reason why demons are allowed to to interfere with humans lives.

Remember Satan’s power is not unlimited. God will place a limit on what is experienced, he will also give you warnings and signs so that you can correct what is not right.

God bless you courage2010.

Months later, after I’d nearly forgotten about the desk incident, I was woken up in the middle of the night by my little brother. He said he’d seen
I finally went and talked to my youth pastor and he came to the house to bless it. My parents had no idea he was coming over but let him continue anyway. My parents never did anything themselves besides tell me I had a big imagination because they don’t believe that demons are active in our lives unless you do something, like magic, to open the door and literally invite them in. Everything stopped after my pastor visited. At least until about a year ago.

Do not listen to pablope please. That is the last thing you say.

Are you serious?

And having the house blessed by a priest will not likely solve the problem.

DO NOT SAY “My Lord” Or “My God” when you see them. That is the last thing you say. “Lord help me” would be appropriate.

Don’t take any more advice contact an exorcist asap there are no experts here.

Faith…I apologize if my post was miscontrued. I did not say or mean that blessing the house will solve the problem…but it will be a way to open the door to healing the house. There will be many more steps needed.

Calling “My lord and My God”, reading from one of the exorcism books (either The Rite or Fr. Amorth’s) is a way to and of submission to God…and can have an effect of imparting that one is surrendiring to God.

Wrong. The Gospel is the most effective reading material.

I have to assume you have good intentions, but you must understand this advice is misleading.

Calling to the Lord,yes.

If you see a demon and you say “My Lord”. What does this imply?
Also reading The Rite has nothing to do with surrendering to God. It may be good reference (I have never read it) material.
It is not a substitute for scripture.

edit: If your intentions are good, you have no need to apologize. There was a time where I forgot demons even existed.

Something I keep seeing in everyone’s replies is “get a Priest”, Thing is, I’m not Catholic. The bigger issue: My parents won’t allow anyone to come into our home for a cleansing. My Oma thinks I’ll have to try to do it myself…
