Hey there. I am doing some some research on Demons. And have always wondered about one thing (name removed by moderator)articular…

You hear of hauntings of demons etc, and even fiction obviously in movies. But this is the thing I don’t get. I know demons want to ‘destroy’ someone, and I guess they want to break someone mentally and as well as physically. But why beat around the bush so to speak? If an entity can move and do things and has supernatural powers, why not just kill someone straight away? Why not pick up a knife and just stab someone etc? I’ve never understood why they don’t just do that. It’s like in the James Bond movies. Bond never dies. There are so many ways he’d get captured, and could be killed just like that. But the villain always comes up with some ‘elaborate’ way of executing him, only for Bond to escape and save the day! I was just wondering on people’s views?

Well, I suppose if they can move things, they could easily do things that would lead to a persons death, like maybe causing something in their car to malfunction, so they are killed in a crash, or have something fall on them, etc etc. but I dont think killing them is the overall goal, instead, they desire for the person to willingly turn away from God.

They realize this hurts the person and God, thats what they want ultimately, to hurt God, we are just the pawns they use in that pursuit.

True I suppose. Just seems a bit contradictory. Like demons possess someone. Why not just kill them rather than carry on and eventually be cast out? People say demons want to destroy you and loved ones. Would make sense just to pick up a knife or something. Plus. If an exorcism occurred and the demon lost. That would make the victims and families turn closer to God. Something evil wouldn’t want!

Demons realize our earthly lives are very short, its the afterlife that is eternity, so its more effective for them to ‘distract’ someone or slowly and methodically turn them away from God, this has direct effect on where they spend eternity, that is the important thing, the demons want to hurt God, so turning his most beloved creations against him and them doing so willingly, that is worse than a knife to the physical body.

Plus, not many people reach the point of being possessed and having an exorcism, the vast majority of folks who will end up in hell lead very normal earthly lives, slowly being drawn away God and the truth and letting themselves fall for the lies the enemy puts in front of them.

Satans greatest trick was to convince mankind he does not even exist. makes it that mush easier to ‘lure’ people away from God.

Can see your point! Another thing. Why do some demons wear hooded cloaks? I’ve read and seen a few things that have that. Wonder what the significance of that would be.

Demons themselves do not have an actual physical body, being spirits. Yes, they can manipulate matter, but they themselves aren’t bodily. So I suppose the portrayal of them wearing cloaks is to convey the notion of something secret and sinister (as in, they have ill intent and want to remain hidden, hence the cloak).

In the Bible it explains that The Lord’s ways are not always easy to understand. God restricts the actions of Satan and his demons. The chief reason why demons don’t get away with the wholesale attack of everyone on the face of the Earth is because God and the Lord prohibit it.

Job 37:5 God’s voice thunders in marvelous ways; he does great things beyond our understanding.

To answer your question, there is a war between God and the devil, and the prize which they both seek is our souls. It makes no sense for the devil to concentrate his efforts on simply stabbing some poor guy walking down the street. They want to lead our souls from salvation, and will do whatever God permits them in order to lure our souls to their side.

If anyone is going to be physically attacked by the devil, it will be former sinners who repent and those seeking to have a closer union with God. They rarely attack active sinners. It’s almost always those seeking God that get attacked.

Because any evil spirit can only do what God expressly permits.

If God permitted demons to do whatever they liked, not only would every mortal sin lead to full on possession, but we’d all quickly be dead and in hell.

^YES, this. Also, read “Screwtape Letters”. It’s a great window into how demons actually work. They don’t want us to die suddenly, because there’s a better chance we can be saved. I mean, how many people would obey if a demon just said “Hey! Go kill that guy!” Possessions may be different, but I can’t speak to those. I’m no expert. All I know is, they simply don’t care about us, except to use us as tools to hurt God. I heard on Catholic radio once that the whole reason they trick us into sin is to drag us down and say “HA! Not only do we not love you, you can’t be with Him now, either!” It’s a win-win for them.

Think about it carefully. The devil gets other people to do his dirty work. Why would he kill anyone if he can get someone else to do it? If that happened, he would cause the perpetrator to maybe kill someone.

With so much going on it would seem that it would take only a nudge from the devil to start something.

St. Gemma was beaten severely by the devil. Padre Pio and the Cure of Ars had to put up with his shenanigans as well, and he physically beat them, too. He could have killed them but wasn’t allowed to take it that far. I also read a book about an exorcism. I don’t know the title because it was so long ago. One of the priests pulled up to a gas station and got out of the car. He went to get his gas, and the car exploded for no apparent reason.

That is why I am aware of the black Satanic mass that will be held August 15. It may unleash a major demonic upheaval. Sometimes when people wish for something hard enough they will get it. In this case, the Satanists want the devil in their lives, and whether they know it or not, they will eventually get their wish.

The one thing Im not real clear on is God ‘allowing’ demons, and satan to do these things, This just sounds strange to me, I mean, these fallen angels tried to take over heaven, they were defeated and kicked out, down here to earth with us nonetheless, even though they did all this, God still allows them all kinds of power and influence in our world…does that make any sense?

The bible says Satan will eventually be imprisoned and chained in the pit after the second coming, but it goes on to say, he will be released again for a short time period…so, why does he have to be released again, who is making these rules, why were satan and the demons not chained up in the pit right after they were kicked out of heaven, why release them into the world your most beloved creation calls home?

Any time anyone starts any kind of relationship with a demon, it gives him power to pop into the world and do mischief.

Being that people have free will and realize that there are dark powers that they think can do their bidding, they invite them in. The people think they can control demons, but they are mistaken.

God did not want it this way. But, demons were created as angels, and they decided they had enough of God and wanted to be free of Him. When that happened, they got their wish. Being on earth was probably not exactly what they had in mind. They wanted to take the place of God in ruling the universe. However, St. Michael cast them out of Heaven and they fell to earth like lightning falls from the sky. In that case, they were humiliated, so they decided to corrupt the puny things called humans to get even with God. Their philosophy is pure hatred. Why they were not tied up in prison somewhere and not allowed to roam the earth is God’s decision. He had a reason for this, but why, I don’t know. Maybe it was to test those on earth to see if they love Him.

Killing a good man is pointless (think little nicky, boom respawn)

Affecting as many as possibke to evil is the goal.

Now note that it can be multi angled. They “wear” on someone because they literally cannot “just kill you” when you have enough of yourself turned toward God.

On the flip side if a demon did just inhabit your body and make you kill yourself… would anyone ever hear of you as a demon story???

Nope! So your assumption that they never do so is based on unproveable theory 🙂

The human mind is unable to understand the supernatural, save for what has been revealed to us.
