As I understand it, since the feast of the Annunciation falls during the octave of Easter this year, the liturgical celebration will be on March 31st. Does this affect using the March 25th Annunciation date as regards the total consecration? If I wait until the 31st, then it will be the Annunciation this year only. If on the 25th it will be the right date, but it won’t be on the Annunciation for this year! Arrgh! Thanks.

I would say make it on the 25th because the following years will be on the 25, but spend the days up to the 31 in special pray. I’m no expert, but this is a wonderful devotion. I am consecrated to Our Lady, and would recommend it to anyone. God bless you in this devotion.

All I got is that the 33 day prep starts Feb. 20th and ends March 25th from de Monforts book. But you may want to ask a priest about it for this year. Here are some links that have contacts that you might ask to get the answer if no one here knows.montfortmissionaries.org/links.htm

Thanks. That’s kinda what I was thinking of doing. I have a few other e-mails out trying to get a somewhat official answer. Anyone?

Here’s the answer to your question:
If you wish to do the 33-day St. Louis de Montfort Total Consecration to Jesus through Mary, the Feast of the Annunciation is on March 31st this year, so you should begin the process on Wednesday, February 27th. The Consecration is supposed to take place on the 34th day, which should be a Marian feast day. The Annunication is the feast St. Louis recommends most of all.
