Please cite a specific case of a Catholic Church official, on authority of the Church–not the government, putting someone at the stake and burning the person for speaking contrary to the Church. Please cite me the victim’s name.

I am not saying it has not happened. You say it has. Please prove it with a concrete name of perpetrator with Church authority to execute someone and the victim’s name and what the victim said.

It’s a tough call. Do you assume no kind of unjust law will be passed until it actually is? Or do you watch the political winds blow and try to stop it before it happens. Does that make you paranoid?

Given what happened in Canada, I don’t think it is paranoid. It is a valid concern.

As for roving gangs of gay-bashers; Such a problem sounds like police indifference. If the cops care and catch them, they can prosecute under existing law called ‘assualt and battery’. The victim can then file a civil suit and doc the criminal’s pay for a LONG time. NO NEW LAW IS NEEDED FOR THIS. If the cops don’t care enough to try to catch them, what is a new vague and dangerous law going to do to help?
