Take a look at this link and you’ll see what I mean…(Egads)!!!
What exactly are you referring to from the URL you provided? I took a look and did not see anything obvious that was way out of line (a little more reverence when throwing around the terms “bread” and “wine” maybe, but I’m not going to split hairs over that). Could you be more specific what you find problematic, otherwise I only can guess what you are trying to refer to  . Thanks!

It also says, “We are now scheduling EMs at ALL Masses.” I guess that new letter on the Liturgy hasn’t gotten to them yet…

Oddly enough, that just happens to be the closest parish to me. But I haven’t been there yet.

I too missed the place in which the real presence was denied. There was however some popup which failed to pop.Maybe the pooped out popup is the presence problem?

That this thread has gone over so many heads shows how poorly the Faith has been taught.

Sacred Bread and Sacred Wine just screamed at me! :bigyikes:

And what in the name of Heaven, Purgatory, Hell and Earth is a Number 1 Bread Person/E.M. Captain?

:ehh:

I’m printing this page off and will be mailing it to Francis Cardinal Arinze.

I invite others to do the same. Let’s see if we get a response. I’ve driven by St. PivsX and it ain’t that big!

don’t you think you are being a little reactionary. why not contact the parish first and ask your questions to them? couldn’t it be they are just finding the easiest way to organize the people helping with mass? the way to deal with problems in the church is to approach the offending party first, then bring in some one else, next the whole congregation and church and finally expulsion. it seems you’ve skipped step 1 and want step 2 to already be over so that step 3 (which you are sure will be ignored) can lead right to step 4. try loving your brothers and sisters in Christ enough to let them know personally where you think they might be in error. proverbs says that harsh words from a friend can be trusted so be their friend and tell them your problem before you rashly go causing a ruckus in Christ’s body.

Perhaps I am mistaken but doesn’t the first Eucharistic prayer refer to the Eucharist as bread (after the consecration)?

It is not that I do not understand or am poorly catechized, it is just the word "denial’ seems strong. What I see is a news article that fails to support the real presence. not actively denies it.

Yes, it is indeed incorrect to use the terms “Sacred Bread” and “Sacred Wine” for the Body and Blood of Our Lord. I just finished reading most of the parish newsletter, and found a lot of very good things, including information about the Catholic Exchange website’s materials about “The Passion of the Christ.” And an article about staying until the end of Mass instead of leaving early. And a nice reflection on the Trinity (I admit I didn’t finish this one, but what I did read was OK). I don’t think we’re looking a systemic unbelief in this parish, just a person who types the schedule who needs some education and clarification. Let’s not go nuts here, OK?

What makes you so certain the other steps haven’t been taken?
i’m not sure but this is still not the place to come complaining about things. you are right, i should have clarified, but i am right in that this is not the proper way of fixing the “problem”.

For those that don’t believe, there is no explanation!

For those that DO believe, No explanation is necessary!.. 👍

What I am referring to is PRECISELY a matter of Catholic Belief. If we as Catholics believe in the Real Presence of Christ in the Eucharist and engage in a variety of Eucharistic Devotions then it’s only sensible not to refer to such an august gift as “Sacred Bread” and “Sacred Wine.” Who would ever want to watch or adore a lousy piece of bread?? The conclusion is simple.
