Depressed...feel like I've "stalled' in my learning

I’m doing the at home study thing I found on here, and it’s really good at answering my questions, love it! Back in Finland and 1,000km from any Catholic church it seems so it’s just me and my lonesome.

Been depressed a bit because of bad health and I think I have weird attachments to here, since I became a fundamentalist Christian baptist here in 2004 and my brain sort of reverts to that type of thinking. I have my mary and Jesus pictures up but my brain doesn’t seem to want to remember or boot to the “new me”.

Maybe it’s the darkness here, and I need more vitamin D lol.

Anyone ever went through a rough patch when you were still learning?

This is not uncommon, and is particularly noticeable with foreign language learning, or at least that’s how I found out about it Basically, I was learning another language and started suddenly making a lot of mistakes! But they explained to me that I was consolidating what I had learned and actually stretching the complexity in my use.

I would take a little break from theology, if that is possible with your course, and pray and read Scripture and about saints.

You are definitely in a tough position being so far from a church! Make friends with the saints!
