Depressed Husband

Please pray for my husband. He has been suffering for 12 years with pain and issues surrounding 3 back/neck surgeries, becoming dependent on narcotics, and getting off them many times. He tries so very hard to be positive and useful as he is able. He has worked very hard to ‘get off’ pain and ‘psych’ meds, eat properly, exercise, etc. He has even been able to work a little by helping his brother with his business.
Now he has been ‘besieged’ by extreme lethargy and exhaustion. Some days he is unable to get out of bed. Doctors can’t seem to find anything specific.
He feels, and so do I sometimes, just attacked on all sides. It’s like he takes 2 steps forward only to be pushed 3 steps back. He’s almost feels pushed to the breaking point of feeling he just doesn’t have the strength and energy ‘to go on’.

Please pray for peace, healing, strength … God bless you for your works of mercy

I certainly will keep your husband, and you, in my prayers.

Has the doctor brought up possible Fibromyalgia? I have this and his symptoms sound very similar to mine (And I am also chronically depressed…my cross.)
 
Fibro has been suggested. Lyrica was no good for him. Thanks for your prayers, you’ll be in mine as well.

Have him volunteer in some way to help the less fortunate. Also have him go to a healing Mass, sometimes when medically its unexplanable it is spiritual. Call your diocese and they can give you such information.
 
I pray that God gives him some relief. If not physical, at least spiritual. I would encourage him to visit the Blessed Sacrament. I suffer depression and frequent migraines, and frequently visiting the adoration chapel really helps. To be able to lay it all out before Our Lord is sometimes what I need to help me get through to the next day.

I pray that Jesus, the Perfect Physician, will send His healing power into your husband’s body, mind, and soul.

Your Divinity did not require a Ph.D.
Eagerly, You resurrected the dead,
Restoring the health of the sick.
Be it physical or spiritual torment,
None were a great obstacle to You:
For Your loving power is omnipotent.

body and soul vigorous
So he may fulfill his daily functions.
The world will be conquered by You,

the grace of inner Peace.
As You commanded the storm winds at sea to be calm,
command the storms in their lives to be calmed.
Give ChristineMac and her husband the patience they need

Grant them the strength to better deal with their problems,
and the understanding to be more tolerant
and kind to others.
Teach them to seek after Your will
which alone brings peace of mind
and peace of heart.
