I am a sophomore at a small catholic college in Ohio and I am honestly not happy. I lost a few friends earlier this year because they were toxic. Without them, I really do feel better. However, I now have very few friends and am lonely all the time. During the day I can usually distract myself, but at night I feel horrible. I have tried to join different things to meet new people, but nothing seems to work. I guess I posted on here because I need some prayers, I am so tired of feeling sad all the time.

Hi,

Our blessed Lord knows what it is like to be lonely. After being betrayed to those who would kill Him, He was publicly denied by Peter three times and the abandoned by the rest of His Apostles. Those who were persecuting Him wanted Him more than dead; they wanted Him to suffer. But most of all the silence of His Father was the most difficult to bare. He knew intellectually that His Father loved Him. But all He felt was rejection and loneliness. Even the Apostles who were closest to Him, fell asleep as He suffered mentally in the garden.

I suggest that you spend frequent time with Him, keeping Him company. You will soon find Him keeping you company as well.
