I’ve experienced this a few times before in my life , but when I felt it coming on this time I didn’t expect it to get this bad… I feel very separated from everyone, including God right now. Please pray for me and all those suffering from any form of mental illness. Thank you.

O Christ Jesus
When all is darkness
And we feel our weakness and helplessness,

Lord, our God, you graciously chose St. Dymphna as patroness of those afflicted with mental, emotional, and nervous disorders. She is thus an inspiration and a symbol of charity to the thousands who ask her intercession.

Please grant, Lord, through the prayers of this pure youthful martyr, relief and consolation to all suffering such trials, and especially those for whom we pray.

We beg you, Lord, to hear the prayers of St. Dymphna on our behalf. Grant all those for whom we pray patience in their sufferings and resignation to your divine will. Please fill them with hope, and grant them the relief and cure they so desire.

We ask this through Christ our Lord, who suffered agony in the garden. Amen.

Prayer for a Miracle

God of all creation, you who spoke a simple command and brought forth light from
the darkness, I ask you now to send forth your miracle-working power to heal dei_gratia15. You cleansed the lepers, opened the eyes of the blind and by
speaking a simple command, you empowered the crippled to rise up and walk.
You sent forth your life-giving power to all those in need, including those you raised from
the dead. I ask you to send forth your healing power into dei_gratia15’s body and give him the strength to fight his illness. I ask this through my Lord, Jesus Christ, your Son, who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, for ever and ever. Amen

Lately, nothing seems to help.

I read my bible each day, stay close to the sacraments… lately it doesn’t matter if I’m sinning and not praying often or attending daily mass and going to confession every week- either way I am sad, feeling unsure of my faith and worried about all the sick and suffering, strangers and those close to me.

In ministry, I put on a happy face and do my best to encourage others, then I go home and feel miserable.

And by the way, I don’t drink or smoke.

Just a dark time lately.
 
I will add you to my prayers tonight when I say the Rosary.

One thing that always helps me when I feel distant from God is to double down on prayer and on reading the Gospels. Even if at first I feel really dry and like God isn’t there, it doesn’t take long before I start to feel better.

Please know that you are not alone with this type of affliction. I’m praying the Lord will give you strength to persevere through this condition and to give you hope and peace. Trust in the Great Physician. Amen !
