I need to ask for forgiveness. I have lost the most important person in my life, my girlfriend. We have done some really bad things to each other. I have broken up with her several times. Our last time I realized what I was really losing even though she had did some bad things to me. I tried to get her back and she told me she needed time however I know that she is now talking to other guys. So that’s why she is asking for time. I can’t sit back and watch this happen so I told her I can’t do it.
I need to ask for forgiveness for me and her, I need the strength to function in life again. I have been depressed for about two months and it is really wearing on me.
PLESE PLEASE help me with a prayer. I’m catholic but need some guidance:(

Praying for you, gran. :gopray2: I am sorry you are feeling so depressed. May God embrace you in his loving arms and comfort you.

Join some sort of group that meets regularly. Build other relationships (non-romantic) to fill the void for now. I know how you feel. Hang in there.

Go to confession! Seek forgiveness from Jesus not us. Get rid of your sins first then the depression will go. Do a examination of conscience first of course.

Remember the first and most important commandment too in your examination of conscience. I am the Lord your God you shall have no other gods before me. If this girl was the most important person in your life as you wrote
I have lost the most important person in my life, my girlfriend.
then you have it all wrong.
The examination asks you Do I love God above all else?
Do I put anything or anyone ahead of Him: money, power, sex, a particular person? Do I blame God when I am dissatisfied?
In what manner have I performed my daily prayers, Holy Mass, other pious practices such as the Rosary, spiritual reading, Eucharistic adoration?

I know from experience what it is like to live with and without putting God first, and life is much easier with God first so I want to encourage you to do the same. Go to confession first.

I will pray for you in my weekend Masses.
I know it’s very painful when you lose someone you love. The grief comes in waves. But she has free will. I pray that God will help you to grow from any mistakes, and how to become truly peaceful and wholesome in spirit.
Warm regards, Trsihie

I have prayed for you, I will remember you in my prayers tonight.

Hi, When I am down and out, I always tell my troubles to the Holy Mother and somehow, things always turn out right. Lots of people in my parish are doing that, youths, adults, seniors… works each time.

I will keep you in my prayers too as I have been down that road myself. Do remember that God has chosen one for us already. No matter how hard we try, our selections may not be correct. I too dated a girl for years. We got along very well - most of the time. She even joined the Church. In the end, it did not work out. About 18 months later I met the woman who eventually became my wife - very randomly.

Concentrate your energy on yourself and on God’s will. Once you put everything into God’s hands, things will turn around. Let go and let God!

I didn’t want to really add to ‘advice’ because I can understand you at this point understandably want to get back together with her, you want to show her you are sorry, you have a strong connection with her, no doubt.

It is a cross my friend, but the thing is, this kind of relationship cross will not last. I pray that gives hope.
