Depression from Illness

I’m going through a lot right now … kidney problems, hyperparathyroidism … which needs surgery, but can’t get to see surgeon I want to use until April, salivary gland infections, lupus, severe pain throughout my body as a result of some of these problems … going for a complete physical on top of all my other doctor appointments on February 20 … hoping they don’t find anything new … the pains I am having need to be checked out.

Now on top of everything I’ve become depressed … asking for prayers to help me get out of this depression and just deal with these illnesses. I’ve been handling the illnesses, but having depression on top of them is difficult.

Any prayers would be most appreciated … God is my only recourse … thank you.

It’s normal for depression to accompany - or even be caused by - pain and illness. I’ll pray for you.

God of all creation, you who spoke a simple command and brought forth light from
the darkness, I ask you now to send forth your miracle-working power to heal (Katherine438). You cleansed the lepers, opened the eyes of the blind and by
speaking a simple command, you empowered the crippled to rise up and walk.
You sent forth your life-giving power to all those in need, including those you raised from
the dead. I ask you to send forth your healing power into Katherine438’s body and give him the strength to fight his illness. I ask this through my Lord, Jesus Christ, your Son, who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, for ever and ever. Amen

When I’ve suffered truly serious injury and pain, I’ve found some solace in the hope that suffering in this life offsets our sins, like a temporal purgatory. But then, I’ve committed a lot of sins… :o

I pray you find similar solace, and solace in the reality that this pain can only end, whereas the love and comfort from God will never end, and awaits us all not just in death but right now

I pray that you know the love of God through or despite the pain, and that his love heals your mind to enable you to cope with the trials inflicted by your body

I pray that the pain and suffering goes away, and even more so that you escape from your depression

I’ve always equated the suffering I do in this world as my own cross that I must carry due to my sins … I have been sick for over 30 years … but for some reason with so many things happening at one time I have become depressed.

Who have wonderfully fashioned man in Your own image,

Strengthen them in body and soul,

Thank you to everyone … I am accustomed to being ill … I’ve been ill for 30 years … but never so many things happening at one time.
