hi. its me again.

well, lately i’ve fallen into this intense deep depression. its more of a “life is dull and boring” depression. i don’t no why, but my mom’s side of the family has some depression/narclyptical disorder, so that might be it. i’m always tired and depressed all the time and seeems like everyone around me is just having a great time. i fell like i’m isolated. its the attitude “New day, same s*it”, which basically it is. i have literally no friends. this is affecting my school and athletic performence. i don’t see the reason why to get up from my bed every day in this suffering, pointless life.Sometimes i think about suicide cuz of it. I’ve been growing lately and i’m in high school, so i hope this is just a stage. i’ll keep praying and hopefully by some freaking miracle i can be better again.

i just don’t see the point in life. why did God have to socially cripple and depress me?

I don’t know that the good Lord did all that on purpose. But even if He did, perhaps He wants to teach you something. I have an idea how you feel. Maybe you should do what I did and talk to your family physician. You really don’t have to continue feeling this way. That’s a choice you make.

“Outcast”, hang in there!! I suffer from depression too and I know it “inhales with great force”!! But don’t give up and don’t give in. People really do care about you and God really does have a purpose for your life. I don’t know why He permits some of us to suffer such debilitating depression; I know I don’t like it; but for some reason He does and somehow He can use our struggle to help others. Don’t give up on God, on yourself, nor on life. I know it seems hopeless right now, depression always feels like that, but remember that the relief season will come eventually and you will be glad you got through it. I agree with the person who said to see your physician, I think that is a very good idea. Is there a Priest or youth minister that you can share your burden with? Ask St Dympha to pray for you, she’s the patron saint for those of use with disorders like depression. God bless you and DON’T GIVE UP!! As Bishop Sheen always said, “Life IS worth living”.🙂

Hey there. Don’t you give up and don’t give in either!

I wish I could send you the song by Point of Grace called “He Belives in You” It talks about the bible verse that says "Knock and the door shall open, Seek and you shall find, etc. " and how we feel when we knock and nothing happens. But then the song says “when your faith is crumbling and your feet are stumbling, it’s so hard to believe in Him…but He belives in you!” It is true that God is with us even when we don’t recognize Him or don’t feel Him.
First:
Try to look for God in the world around you. He may not be in the roaring wind, or a burning bush, or in a voice from a cloud. He can be in the stillness of silence. Sometime the loudest noise can be in the silence.

I remember a time in my life when I felt isolated from the world. I can’t describe the feeling other that I felt (irrationally) unloved. I was getting ready to go out and I prayed, “Lord I feel so down, so unloved, I wouldn’t be surprised if you came down from Heaven yourself and told me you didn’t even want me in your creation” (This was rock bottom for me.) I continued praying as I bent over the tub to wash my hair, " If you would only send me some sort of sign I would know that this is all untrue." As I bowed down over the tub, I felt the earth move beneath my body. God had answered me, and not in a secretive way! He shook the earth’s foundations to get my attention. I ran out of the house screaming and rejoicing for the sign (much to the dismay of my mom who was waiting for the earth to open up and swallow us.) I too have had family that had issues with how they dealt with life.

I share this with you because I am a living witness to God’s loving ways. He cares about us every step of the way. We can’t see his plan, but we must keep our faith in him. We have to give our worries to him and let them go. It’s hard. Really hard. Especially when we don’t feel good physically, emotionally, etc.

I think seeing your family physician is a great idea, but healing the body may only be part of the solution. You sound like you need more purpose in your life (I am feeling the same kind of boredom too). Maybe you could visit with your counselor, or a teacher, coach, minister, family, whoever, to help you sort out your feelings and rechannel your energy into something that will help you feel not only better, but more challenged and interested in life.

I hope you take this to heart and get through this. I will pray that you get what you need.

Take care and God Bless you.

Outcast,
Come into the fold.
We try to live with life’s ups and downs, but sometimes we need help. Thank God for brain research and antidepressants. I, too, have a family link to depression. I was miserable for years and then I finally could take it no more. (I am sure my husband and children suffered as much as I did with my depression). Excercise and reaching out to others helps, but sometimes we need a boost to put us in the right direction. Go see your doctor about ways to help. Bring your depression to the Lord and offer it to Him in union with the Sufferings of Christ. Don’t give up. You wil feel better. You will look back and be amazed at what God has done in your life and you will help others make this same journey.
