Hail Mary, full of grace, the Lord is with thee. Blessed art thou among women and blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus. Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us sinners now and at the hour of our death. Amen.

Are you in treatment?

Can you get some counseling for the depression and/or anxiety? When we are depressed, everything can seem bleak, making everything harder. Nothing works. Further, it’s harder for even our loved ones to want to be around us, because depression is sort of like contagious, or can be.

Some people even could benefit from medication, even if it’s only temporary. However, only a professional could make that determination.

I used to go through something every year, like clockwork, around Thanksgiving till New Years, take an antidepressant for a few months, get off when the sun came back out, again! lol

As to not having a job, had you tried any employment agencies? There are temporary employment agencies and permanent ones. I worked, for years, as a temp, on weekends, days off, and vacation while I went to college.

Some temp, or permanent, agencies, charge a fee but can take it out of your first paycheck. This is something to get you back into the workforce, because it’s generally considered easier to get work when one already has a job. One’s more marketable.

Also, there is a government employment agency.

Some places, I think, also offer training programs. You have options.

Also, I know in the area I used to live, Goodwill offered employment assistance, and there probably are other places that might.

I’m not sure what kind of work you’re looking for, but I think you could find help with that.

I know Goodwill offers jobs, as well, even to people who have all kinds of mental conditions and even who did time in jail. I’ve seen them work with ex-cons and people with Aspberger’s.

God has an amazing plan for your life! You are God’s child and special!
Forget about the past and hand it over to God. God says in the bible, ‘Many are first who will be last , and many are last who will be first.’ It doesn’t matter when you start living for God, He’ll bring you to the same place in Heaven or higher than all the others who have been serving Him all their lives . Remember the parable that Jesus spoke of a boss going to the market place to hire people to work on His vineyard? The boss went there a few times. However all the workers were given the SAME wages, even if they were only called at midday when some of the workers had worked all day.

God wants you to reach the highest place in Heaven with the greatest joys for all eternity. He NEEDS you to finish your earthly mission first.
You may feel like you are waiting like the men waiting to be hired at the market place. Our Lord will find you work, in the meantime wait patiently.

I bet you love your wife and kids.

Despair comes from satan . Don’t listen to satan.
Jesus always said in the bible, 'Your sins are forgiven you. Go in peace. My peace I leave you.

I was at a mass where a priest said. If you can’t find work, do some voluntary work in the meantime to keep busy, volunteer to train the kids in football, help out at a parents council, tidy towns committee, volunteer to the priest to help out with mass readings,

Socialise with your family -find something you all love to do together, visit relatives you enjoy together,

Turn everything positive. God only wants you to pull through this and has great grace waiting for you on the other side.

God answers prayer.

As to your social life, if you can also volunteer, that can also help get someone out of the house, give a person a sense of purpose.

Clubs, organizations, church, and support groups are all good.

Can you develop a hobby? Reading… I am learning braille, stenography. I learned Level I, am trying to learn Level II. I also read in braille, entire books, just for the heck of it.

Lately, I also have gotten into ceramics. That is the coolest thing since sliced bread.

For class, I get into all kinds of creative things. I teach, at times, through songs. So, I sing.

Briefly, I tried wheelchair dancing, though I think I prefer other things.

I also like drawing, like for class.

You are person and have value, though you might not believe that right now.

Can you also get out of the house, even if it’s just to take a walk and get a change of scenery?

Exercise can be helpful for some people or sports.

Some people journal…write out their feelings.

Consider what you like, and try to do more of that, be happy. When we’re happier, everything is easier…work…relationships.

Oh…games are nice. On occasion, especially when I feel a bit down and out, lonely, I go downtown, play chess with the guys. Although, there are days I get a little upset when I lose, but even so, I find it beneficial…also, to have some form of intellectual-mental stimulation, as well, so as to fend off boredom.

Can you surround yourself with positive people, also of those who you share some common interest?

One word on volunteering…I have a disability, but I volunteer and have for years.

At one point, I even got paid employment, in part, through my experience AS a volunteer. I interpreted as a volunteer. Later, that experience helped me land a job as a professional interpreter. So, I didn’t volunteer with the intent of working, but yes, it can actually give someone a “foot in the door”, something to put on a resumé, experience, and a sense of purpose.

I was at a talk once where someone in the Healing ministry spoke and said. Anyone who was suffering stress. To pray 3 rosaries. And go for one day on bread and water only as a fast.
It will fill you with the Peace, Love, and Joy of God and let you experience some of Heaven from earth. It says in the bible, ‘Draw near to God and He will draw near you. Resist the devil and he will flee from you.’ Do not think negative thoughts, negative thoughts curse and do not come from God, think positively refuse to think negatively, and BELIEVE no matter what you see that God has great plans -count all the blessing you are greatful for (make a Massive list of all the good in your life.) I always feel better when I thank God I’m not living under persecution and poverty that some of the Christians are facing in the east, and being enslaved and tortured/ killed for their faith. If I feel tempted to be jealous of others I list all the reasons why I would Not be happy in their shoes, and I think of a list of all the graces/gifts God has given me that are individually for me alone! Gratitude and positive thinking,

Jesus grants miracles based on our faith, believe He has a good miracle coming your way and it will arrive. Jesus told so many people, ‘Let it be done for you according to your FAITH!’
Just believe. Even someone else’s faith can bring the miracle you need, Jesus healed a roman’s daughter based on the father’s faith.

I can promise you the Peace of God if you pray. Prayer is the precondition of God for obtaining grace from Him. Peace is a gift of prayer.

Join a few clubs, book club, drama club, football club, anything at all -try out a few to find what suits you,
and you can meet people and socialise

My favourite socialising is with my family! I appreciate them more and more!
God gave you your family specifically for you.

A neighbour of mine couldn’t find work. He volunteered at the local parish and the parish found work to pay him to tidy the town. The neighbour later decided to train as a new career where there will be PLENTY of work. It was just a step he needed to go through until a new door represented itself to him

My brother and sister also did low paid work or work that paid in vouchers or volunteer work and it looked excellent on their CVs and got them opportunities later to do work that perfectly suited their talents.
God had a plan in this. He needs you to do something now so He can open a door later. There are no coincidences in life. Everything is in God’s hands for our good. My brother and sister ended up in their dream job after going through the above for quite a while. It was exactly what was needed on their Curriculum Vitaes to land their dream jobs.

Yes make a move, and know this is a step God needs to give you something BETTER

Bible says: ‘God works EVERYTHING for the GOOD of those who love Him.’
This is a little step God needs to give you something brilliant

I came to Mexico as a volunteer English teacher. Later, I ended up being paid as a tutor/teacher!

Same thing happened when I volunteered as a Spanish interpreter. I later got hired as a part-time professional interpreter. I worked 3 years with a company, and when it closed, the supervisor only recommended 3 of us…and I was one of the three! Then, I worked a year, on my own, as an independent contractor, before coming to Mexico.

I interpreted in literacy, same thing…used my experience towards paid work, as a teacher/tutor.

In each case, I didn’t start volunteering with the intention of working, but it just sort of …happened! When one volunteers, one never knows what will develop.

When one goes for employment, a potential employer will generally want to know what one has been doing. It sounds so much better to say, “I’ve been volunteering at such and such a place”.

My supervisor at Goodwill gave me a WONDERFUL recommendation to the point I was hired as an interpreter…no interview! I never actually met that supervisor!

So, to a future employer, it sounds better to say one was volunteering than sitting at the house, say, because volunteering shows some degree of initiative and goodwill.

Please go to your doctor and ask about anxiety medicine, it could change your life. I have suffered as you have for most of my life, but my anxiety medicine helps me not dwell on the negatives but rather the opportunities and positives, no matter how small.

I could not even look up when I walked down the street, now I smile and say hello. There are so many places where people will welcome you. Volunteering is a great start. Soup kitchens are always looking for people. You can meet people, help people, and feel better about yourself.

I am praying for you!

Saint Michael, the archangel, defend us in battle, be our defense against the wickedness and snares of the devil, may God rebuke him, we humbly pray. And do you, O’ Prince of the Heavenly host, by the power of God thrust into Hell Satan and all the other evil spirits who prowl about the world for the ruin of souls.

Amen.

Our Father who art in Heaven, hallowed be thy name.

Thy kingdom come, thy will be done on Earth as it is in Heaven.

Give us this day our daily bread.

And forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us.

And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil.

Amen.

Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us sinners, now and at the hour of our death.

Almighty and Eternal God,
Give me, we beseech You,
the great gift of inward peace.
Command the winds and storms
of my unruly passions.
Subdue, by Your grace,
my proneness to love
created things too much.
Give us a love of suffering for Your sake.
make us forbearing and kind to others,
that we may avoid quarrels and contentions.
And teach us constantly to seek after
and to acquire that perfect resignation
to Your Holy Will
which alone brings interior peace.

Amen.

I will pray but you may need to get some counseling and/or medication to get through this.

:gopray2:My love,
mlz

I have suffered from all these things as well.
All I can tell you is be grateful for who you are and for who God is.
  1. God who loves you
  2. you have wife, kids
  3. the opportunity to serve them, in that order
The practice of gratitude is what helps me. And it does take practice. It is hard to be grateful while enduring pain. We all have deficiencies. Let the pain lead you to God. Be thankful even for the pain. Eucharist:thanksgiving. How could Christ institute the Eucharist, knowing what he was to endure?

I offer my prayers for you, and I also need you, to pray for me as well.

Jesus, we come to the foot of your cross, just to be there with you, and with your Sorrowful Mother. Gaze on us and help us with our pain.
Thank you Jesus.

I understand, better than you might think.
Just wait one more day,
one more sunrise,
one more kiss from a child,
one more healing touch from your bride,
one more Blessed still small voice to tell you that
you are UN-replaceable and dearly Loved.

A prayer against depression

O Christ Jesus
When all is darkness
And we feel our weakness and helplessness,
Give us the sense of Your Presence,
Your Love and Your Strength.
Help us to have perfect trust
In Your protecting love
And strengthening power,
So that nothing may frighten or worry us,
For, living close to You,
We shall see Your Hand,
Your Purpose, Your Will through all things.

By St. Ignatius of Loyola

Jesus, Help Me Prayer

In every need let me come to You with humble trust, saying:
Jesus, help me!

In all my doubts, perplexities and temptations:
Jesus, help me!

In hours of loneliness, weariness and trials:
Jesus, help me!

In the failure of my plans and hopes, in disappointments, troubles and sorrows:
Jesus, help me!

When others fail me, and Your grace alone can assist me:
Jesus, help me!

When I throw myself on Your tender Love as a Father and Savior:
Jesus, help me!

When my heart is cast down by failure, at seeing no good come from my efforts:
Jesus, help me!

When I feel impatient, and my cross irritates me:
Jesus, help me!

When I am ill, and my head and hands cannot work and I am lonely:
Jesus, help me!

Always, always, in spite of weakness, falls and shortcomings of every kind:
Jesus, help me and never forsake me. – Amen
