I’m a recently baptized catholic who’s been facing depression on and off for months. I graduated a year ago and have had 0 luck in landing a job. The job search has created depression for me and left me wondering what I should do (continue trying to find a job? Going back to school?). Sometimes when I think back, I wish I could redo it all over again.

What does God have destined for me? I want to right this ship and follow the destiny he has for me. I’m just trying to find the right path that leads to it.

My depression goes into overdrive thinking I may have wasted an opportunity. The depression is devastating and I’ve cried on occasion from it.

I ask for your prayers in helping me and everyone faced with depression and looking for a job.

Thank You and God Bless.

Can you get treated for depression in the meantime? If you have health insurance, it may cover a few visits.

Does your college have a Career Placement Center? Some do for graduates.

There are also employment agencies, temp agencies.

What’s your field?

Can you widen the search area, move if necessary?

Come Holy Spirit, fill the hearts of your faithful and kindle in them the fire of your love. Send forth your Spirit and they shall be created. And You shall renew the face of the earth.

O, God, who by the light of the Holy Spirit, did instruct the hearts of the faithful, grant that by the same Holy Spirit we may be truly wise and ever enjoy His consolations, Through Christ Our Lord, Amen.

This time in our ecnomy has left many people in your position, please try not to give up. There is a job out there for you and God will lead it to you. We will pray with you that you will be employed in that position very soon,

Memorare

REMEMBER, O most gracious Virgin Mary, that never was it known that anyone who fled to thy protection, implored thy help, or sought thy intercession was left unaided. Inspired with this confidence, I fly to thee, O Virgin of virgins, my Mother; to thee do I come; before thee I stand, sinful and sorrowful. O Mother of the Word Incarnate, despise not my petitions, but in thy mercy hear and answer me. Amen.

Dear Lord, grant this newly formed Catholic the grace to persevere through these trials. The gift of knowledge that you bestowed on them is desperately needed. Help them to stay near to you and pray ardently for guidance and patience.

Our Father, Who art in heaven,
Hallowed be Thy Name.
Thy Kingdom come.
Thy Will be done, on earth as it is in Heaven.
Give us this day our daily bread.
And forgive us our trespasses,
as we forgive those who trespass against us.
And lead us not into temptation,
but deliver us from evil.

Amen.

Dear Lord, you are our refuge in good and in bad times. In your infinite mercy, bring peace and comfort to those of us who face days sometimes filled with pain and depression. Help us to realize that through you there is joy and the promise of lasting peace. Help us through the rough times. Walk before and beside us so that we may walk in your footsteps and reach out to you in our journey on this earth. Help us to focus on our blessings rather than our misfortunes, dear Lord. Thank you for hearing and answering our prayers. Amen

Praying for brighter days.

Our Father, Who art in Heaven,
hallowed be Thy name. Thy kingdom come, Thy Will be done,
on earth as it is in Heaven.
Give us this day our daily bread,
and forgive us our trespasses
as we forgive those who trespass against us,
and lead us not into temptation,
but deliver us from evil.
Amen.

Hail Mary, full of grace, the Lord is with thee.
Blessed art thou among women and blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus.
Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us sinners, now, and at the hour of our death.
Amen.

Glory be to the Father and to the Son and to the Holy Spirit.
As it was in the beginning, is now, and ever shall be, world without end.
Amen.

Praying to St. Dymphna for your health & recovery. Praying to St. Joseph for you to secure employment.

Saint Michael, the archangel, defend us in battle, be our defense against the wickedness and snares of the devil, may God rebuke him, we humbly pray. And do you, O’ Prince of the Heavenly host, by the power of God thrust into Hell Satan and all the other evil spirits who prowl about the world for the ruin of souls.

Amen.

Prayer of Complete Trust in God

O kind and merciful God, in Your Hands I place my hopes and fears, my likes and dislikes, my happiness and unhappiness, my joys and sorrows. I offer You the needs of my perishable body and the more important ones of my imperishable soul. I do not have to be afraid for my soul as long as I leave it in Your loving care.

Great are my failings and my wretchedness, but even greater is my hope in You. It is stronger than my weakness, greater than my difficulties, and mightier than death.

Though assailed by temptation, I will hope in You. Though I may falter because of weakness, I will continue to trust in You. Though I may not live up to my promises, I will confidently seek grace from You to renew and keep them. Though You may take away my earthly life, even then I will maintain my hope in You.

You are my Father and my God, the ground of my salvation. You are my gracious and loving Father, and I am Your beloved child. I cast myself in Your Arms and ask for Your blessing. I place all my trust in You and I know that I will not be confounded. Amen.
