Description of an evil force I saw/felt last night

When my brother died last year I wished with all my heart that I could talk to him again. A good priest warned me to never ever wish such a thing as the evil one would be only to happy to send me a message from my brother. (Of course it would be a deception.) He said that I should only wish that my brother stands before the throne of God and I should wish that I myself will also stand before the throne of God and I will see him there.
Yes, what I did was stupid, but I have not quite accepted her death yet. My experience did help me learn alot, though, and has helped me come closer to finally accepting it. In the end, I would not have changed anything that I did. I learned alot, and that has made it worth it.

Thank you for sharing that experience.

I never did say I was an expert, I was just saying that was my experience. Age does not matter.

Yes, demons are dangerous. The only times demons have visited me is when I tried to use the ouija board, and as stated above, that was very far off from my intention(I’ve given up with the board now). Other then those few minutes, I do not see any demonic influences in my life. I am very happy right now, most everythign seems perfect to me.

I have helped someone in my church and many people online to deal with demons, but I only work with them to give them faith. IN the end, they are the ones who banish it in the end.

I do not believe that people can actually kill demons. I do believe that you can remove them and send them off somewhere far away, but I’ve never heard of someone actually killing a demon. As far as I know, energy cannot be destroyed, only changed. Yes, God can remove them…wait, isn’t that what the Church teaches?
Yes the Church teaches that GOD can remove them, don’t try and twist Church teaching to fit your own mish mash of beliefs. We have no power except that which God has given us. You have not been given power by God because you need rituals to give you strength.

Incidentally, age does matter. You’ll realise that in a few years.

Again I don’t want to seem too harsh so don’t get offended. You always have interesting subject matter to say the least 😃

Yes, I fully agree with you on the first part. Yes, I do some rituals, but most of these are to honor the Divine. What the priest does in Church is pretty much the same things as my rituals, with a few differences concerning the deities. Yes, rituals do give me strength, but the strength that I ask for comes from God. I could say that you have to pray to get strength, and praying in itself can be a ritual. There are many rituals in the Church itself.

I don’t usually do rituals when helping people with demons. What matters really is how much faith they have. If I ritual gives them faith, then so be it. If praying to Jesus and God gives them faith, then do that. Either way works great.

Haven’t you heard? I’m Wiccan now. I realized tha my Christian-Wicca thing was just because my subconscious was not comfortable with leaving everything I had thought I believed behind…a problem to be expected. Some may ask why I still belong to these forums. Well, I have learned alot. Some of my views have become more Catholic, some have not. These forums have helped me grow in my faith, and learn alot of new views.

I don’t pray to ‘‘get strength’’ whatever God does through me is His action, not my own. The Mass is something commanded by God Himself, not cobbled together by some fella in the 1950s

**Yes you told me, I stand by it that its a mish mash of beliefs though. There isn’t a shred of proof that the Celts, Norse, Saxons, Ancient Greeks, Romans, or Egyptians (or anyone else you guys throw into the mix) ever identified as ‘‘Wiccan’’. There is no founding Prophet, or Guru, therefore I can’t really identify it as a religion. **
I still don’t know how to multiquote so my own (name removed by moderator)ut is in bold  .

Lol, I’m horrible at remembering usernames.

No, none of those people you named were Wiccan. Wicca is a realtively new religion. But it does have many of the same qualities and gods and goddesses of the groups you named. Many of our festivals our Celtic in background and follow the seasons.

Wicca is a pagan religion. Paganism has been around for a very long time. Much of Wicca is from paganism.

No, even though there is a mix of cultures, there is no contradiction in Wicca. I could call the Bible a mish mash of beliefssince it was written by many people and does have many contradictions in it. But just because it has many different cultures does not make it any less valid.

It is a religion. It has many founders. But it is very different from any of the typical religions you usually here about. Just because we don’t have people proclaiming that the world is going to end tommorrow does not make it any less valid. 😉 Excuse my hint of sarcasm there.

The Bible is not a mix of cultures. And name me a contradiction, I bet I can disprove it (probably better by PM so as not to derail the thread).

Looking back on it we are going horribly off topic here 😛

I find a lot of arrogance on this thread and lack of knowledge as well. Yes, there is such a thing as generational curses, you can read it here:
spiritdaily.org/Spiritual-War-Angels/hampschbook.htm I have heard this priest myself in Toronto and he knows his stuff…bible et al.

We must always look at the physcial reason of why things happen. This sleep problem is very well explained as sleep paralysis which is very common. St Mike’s site explains this well and confirms what other posters have said:

It is always a good and holy thing to pray for a spiritual director. To be able to lay our soul at the feet of a good director is a life saver in more ways than one. Any negativity happening could and will be explained by a the priest himself. Everything is not demonic. We must be careful. It is also the tool of the devil to make us think that all negativity is from him…we can become obsessed. Just as it is his tool to make us think that the devil does not exist…we must pray and discern before jumping to conclusions about demonic activity.

I’m not about to take your word for it. I’ve seen how demons manipulate, how they know how to lay low, how they can control. Being inside the Catholic Church is no cause to be smug:

Catholic Reason

The Victory of “Emily Rose”

With your background, never let your guard down!
smug?
Dear JPIIToo,
I am not sure where you are getting this thing about me being smug or demonized from but I would appreciate it if you would stop it, it borders on slander and I will report you to the moderators if I have to.
I said that demons are lazy and it is my experience that they are. This in no way makes them any less powerful or dangerous. You are assuming an awful lot here and you are wrong about me.

Ravyn, how did you get out of the satanic cult? You don’t have to answer if you don’t want to, but I am curious, because it seems that it would be a very difficult thing to do, esp. if you were heavily involved.

Moderaters, if this is off topic, please feel free to move it.
Hi Carolyn, I will answer you privately ok?

Just to clarify, Ravyn, Wiccans and satanic cults are very different…I do agree that as I grow older some of my minor opinions change, but even you are still learning. People never stop growing.😃
Scott, the thing you will always get hung up on on a Catholic discussion is that outside of Christianity—it all belongs to Satan from our perspective. So you can say whatever you want to say about Wicca vrs Satanism and it won’t matter to us at all. It does matter to you, but it is one of the ends that will never meet between us. So it is a wasted argument. And I have known the differences in all the sects of pagandom for a long long time. To a Christian there is no difference. Kinda like to a Catholic there are few differences in Protestantism…j/k.

for those besides Scott who are genuinely interested:

I was raised third generation Jehovah’s Witness in the daytime and many more generationed Satanist at night time. The Satanism stopped when I got to be too old for their purposes, around 15. I left JWs at 34. I went back and forth for years to the paganism, trying various sects (including Wicca of which a non-JW aunt of mine was High Priestess since the 1960’s) and was a full time practicing Strega (non-Wiccan) for about 7 years. *edited: I forgot one crazy year I spent with the Mormons too (LDS)! *I came into the Church officially 5 years ago but I tried to mix the two paths for a while before that. (It is commonly said in Italy that every good Catholic housewife may not be a Strega but every good Strega is a Catholic! Folk/Traditional/Family Magick and Catholicism in Italy is like Vodoun or Santeria or Brujeria in this part of the world.) It didn’t work. You can’t mix them. I just hope you find that out Scott before you get sucked into the darkness so far that you can’t see your way out. Believe me—I KNOW the attraction!)

Keep growing. (Unless you are a mushroom you need light to grow.)

yes, exactly to get back on topic. I have had Narcolepsy with Cataplexy diagnosed since I was 5 years old, it is secondary to Porphyria that I inherited from both parents. Not everything is demonic. But, especially if you obsess about demons, they can be attracted to those weaknesses you have and use them. And I don’t care what others may think—it has been my experience that demons ARE lazy. They will use things already in place before they go to the trouble of setting up new scenarios.

my advice for the OP—do not eat heavy or late, say your prayers OUTLOUD every night and have a blessed rosary or medal or some Holy Water in your bedroom. If you are still troubled then speak to your priest right away! And see your medical doctor shortly after that.

No, no you misunderstood me.

I set up protection and countermeasuers, then I invite only good spirits, like my grandma’s. It would be really cool to talk to her again…😦 .

But, even if I ask for protection, work with visualization techniques, among other countermeasuers, I still get a demon. I’m through trying now, though. I just don’t get why a demon always comes through no matter what.

But now that I have come to that conclusion, I have cracked my board in half and buried it in the earth away from my house.
No, Black Tiger, it is you who do not understand. The ouji board is an open invitation to demons and only demons. The use of it will never summon anything but demons, they sometimes pretend to be the spirits of friends and relatives but they lie.

The Church teaches against necromancy, which is speaking to the dead. The reason the Church forbids this is that she knows that Satan will use it to seduce people into satanism.

Burn your ouji board and go to confession for using it.

I have to second this statement.

Okay, I didn’t know that the board was bad at the time. I only had good intentions. But know that I know this, having had experience with it myself, as I said above, I cracked the board and buried it. I don’t think burning would have worked, since it was stone.

Yes, I guess the Church did get it right, about the ouija board being evil, as asurd as that sounds to me. ANyway, off to swim practice!

You neglected this little caveat in the article:

*Are there “ancestral” curses or demons?

This is a controversial topic, with many respected priests and charismatics convinced that there are, while others denounce such beliefs as fringe concepts or old-fashioned.

We’ll let you decide, since your discernment is as good as ours*

Well, since my discernment is as good as theirs (the usual goofy charismatics), :dts: Even priests have been known, many times, to fake, force, and sensationalize their pet signs and wonders.

You only need to watch the movie ‘The Exorcist’ to realize what ouija boards can do. Yes, I know there is some hollywood in the movie but a lot of it is right on.

I don’t have much to add to any of this except that I do think the “divide” between the material and spiritual worlds is thinner than is commonly supposed. My Irish father believed that implicitly, and I witnessed so many seemingly “prescient” things done by my Italian grandfather and an aunt, that I think we mostly just filter things out that don’t fit our notions of what “should be real”.

I do think it’s nothing to be messed with, though. I think God taught us to pray because that’s how He wants us to communicate with His world; not by trying to peek through the curtains somehow on our own.

Likely the most dramatic thing that ever happened to me was once when I was asked by an associate to interview a man who was incarcerated. I was used to doing that, and was used to some pretty awful characters. Well, I went into the interview room and the man entered. There was nothing particularly unusual about him as far as appearance is concerned. But something either came in with him or he exuded something that was overwhelmingly oppressive; like a dark curtain being pulled down in front of light, or all the oxygen being suddenly evacuated from the room. I simply froze, and couldn’t really talk. I stammered out that my associate would be communicating with him and left. Turns out the man’s crime was shaking a child to death, then involving the mother, unwillingly, in hiding the body in the woods.

I was never able to deal with serious criminals again after that, though I had done it for years before, and was pretty indifferent to it. I thought I was pretty tough. I don’t know why it happened; why, if some curtain got lifted, it was lifted in my presence. I don’t even know if that’s what it was. I have been put to wonder, though, whether my “filter” was allowed to fail in order to avoid my someday becoming hardened to human suffering; perhaps to see a small glimpse of the reality of evil so I would understand how its overcoming really would require the infinite suffering of a Divine Person.

I don’t pretend to any great understanding of such things, and definitely don’t seek them out. But I think there is reality to such things. It think, too, that notwithstanding the fact that we chafe at the “filtration system” that is our temporal existence, that keeps us from directly witnessing the wonders of the spiritual world, that filtration is a gift from God. I think, unless we were granted immunity by union with God, we could not look at a spirit of darkness as it really is, and live. Our hearts would explode with terror.

Quit talking about evil it won’t do you any good.

Turn your thoughts to virtue and to God.

In the Living Prayer of my life
