Does anyone know what the proper procedure is when the Holy Eucharist is infested with maggots? I am sure the Church has some teaching or advice for this situation. Thank you.

…dissolve and wash down the sink located in the sacristy… called a sacrarium… goes straight to the ground, not the sewer or septic…

I hope that this is not a problem that occurs often in your parish.

Meal moths or beetles may be attracted to hosts just as to any grain product. The problem is easily avoided by keeping unconsecrated hosts tightly sealed in plastic bags or containers prior to consecration, and by using ciboria with properly fitting lids afterward.
