You may wish to speak of this with a priest. I was told by a priest I deeply respect that sacred things are inviolate.
I take this to mean that whatever awful acts people do with sacred and holy things, it does not destroy the inherent sacredness of those things. Those people do not “win”, not ever. The sacredness prevails.
Take heart. They have no power except to do damage to their own immortal souls.
I’m not saying these things should not be addressed, far from it.
