Desecration of the Holy Eucharist?

Hi All,

Can anyone tell me what is desecration of the Holy Eucharist? Last Sunday I didn’t receive the Eucharist because I couldn’t go to confession Saturday, and I was afraid of accepting it in a state of mortal sin. Can anyone tell me what it means when someone does desecration of the Holy Eucharist? Thank you all and God Bless. P.S. I am going to talk to my priest Saturday, and I was wondering what is desecration of the Holy Eucharist, because I am wondering if I need to confess it. But I don’t even know what it is. Lol:blush:

Desecration of the Holy Eucharist can be any act that unholy, or giving to the Eucharist to someone who is unworthy to receive Him. . For example:
  1. Receiving the Eucharist while in the state of mortal sin.
  2. Selling Consecrated Eucharist on Ebay for profit.
  3. Urinating on the Blessed Eucharist (I don’t know if this was actually done.)
  4. Intensionally vomitting the Eucharist.
  5. Giving Eucharist to Non-Catholics.
I don’t think you **done anything to desecrate Eucharist **since you **did not received the Communion **because you were probably in the state of mortal sin. If you had received Holy Communion, in the state of mortal sin, you have committed a grave sin. However, you stated you didn’t received the Body and Blood of the Lord.

I recommend going to confession when time is given to you.

So people wouldn’t do it. I remember a while back.a museum displayed a crucifix submerge in urine. The Catholic League issued a complained.

Thanks anyway, but I think about 99.99 % of the people already know instinctively that desecrating on religious items of any kind is not behavior that is engaged in by decent people.

So people wouldn’t do it? Anyone who could bring themselves to that type of behavior wouldn’t be swayed by a post on this forum. I’m still appalled that this was even mentioned and I am not a prude. I work in construction where anything goes but in hearing this I absolutely cringe.

A crucifix submerged in urine and the Catholic League issued a complaint? A mere complaint?? Did they just have to apologize for such a heinous act?

What an absolutely rediculous world. I’m going to find something better to do right now. This makes my head spin…:hypno: :banghead:

:console: Boy do I hear you!! The only thing that grounds me in all the craziness especially within The Church is knowing that God has it all under control. Not being completely confident of that fact and I would be a psych case.:hypno: I almost lost it in re: to the Sisters of Pertetual Indulgence Abuse. Sometimes I am tempted to stay away from threads of the like
 
If it is desercrated what is the proper way to dispose of it if still around?
 
If the consecrated host could be reverently consumed, that would be best. Otherwise the priest would place it in water so it could disolve then the water would be poured down the sink in the sacristy that empties underground, not in a sewer. One time in our parish, after a host had been dropped on the floor during communion, one woman kneeled down and kissed the carpet where it had lain.
 
I remember an incident a few years go where gay activists received the Eucharist at the cathedral in NYC and spat it out on the floor. That would count as desecration.
 
There are satanic groups that go to Catholic Churches and receive communion, in order to desecrate the Eucharist in their evil rites.

is there some book, encyclical, etc which spells out what constitutes a desecration of the Eucharist?

Let’s just say there are people out there who would desecrate the Holy Eucharist. They lack common sense.

I received an IM one time who claim to be from CAF. He had a question about Eucharist. My memory is very vague on this but he claimed, that he hide the Eucharist when he received it and brought it home.

He um… desecrated the Eucharist by putting it up his buttocks. I was shock. I ask him are you serious? or are you pulling my leg? Why would you do such a thing? He said, I was angry with God so I did what I had to do."

I then told him to confession because his actions were degrading…

I was not sure if what he told me is true. I still ponder if he was being honest to me. It just goes to show that people will do stupid things and defile themselves by desecrating the Eucharist…

Why did I post this? Well, we have crazy people out there…
