I’m starting off with the typical layout of an Eastern Orthodox Icon Corner: A table with two candles (probably votive candles, as these are cheap and easily replacable) on each side, a hand censer (or a very small church censer, which I’m leaning more in the direction of as these can be bought for cheap on eBay) in the middle, and a bronze cross in front of the censer. A Bible on the right hand side, a prayer book on the left. On the wall behind it, a crucifix in the center, an icon of Jesus (probably the Pantokrator icon) on the right side, and an icon of Mary (probably Our Lady of the Sign) on the left. Underneath the icon of Mary, one of those small statue of Mary Rosary holders, and underneath the icon of Jesus a Rosary box with a Komboskini in it. Spare room on the table could be used for various other prayer books (a Horologion or the current volume of the LOTH are two great ideas that come to mind) or maybe a vial of Holy Water. Spare space on the walls could be used for various other icons, for instance an icon of my patron saint, or I’ll leave some room to put an icon of the Holy Family up for when I start my own family. How does this sound so far? Any other ideas that anyone could recommend?
