I need someone else to pray for me because I just feel like no one cares. For the last 4 years I have been praying and asking God for a friend. I have asked for the intercession of Mary, St. Peter, St. Jude, St. Patrick and Pope John Paul the Great. I have not yet made this one particular friend and I now know that it just won’t ever be- I just wanted a good faithful Catholic friend. Ever since he essentially implied no to my requests for him to partake in social activities. It was really verified when he would even share with me the Holy Mass. I just don’t know- I’ve been having numerous spiritual ups and downs lately. I pray to Mary ever night while venerating her icon under the stars for 1 hour or more. I have asked God for this- begged God for this- and it just hasn’t happened.

I’ve also prayed for my family’s conversion, for the conversion of my very atheist bio teacher and for the healing of Mother Angelica and a good family friend of whom I am very fond. Nothing has happened and I’m just so sad lately- I just don’t why God put me on this planet just to be lonely- the loser in the grade.

Every time I try to bring my faith to the people at my school I am told ‘your such a preacher’ or ‘your missing out on REAL teenage life’ or sprayed with axe or something (and I just wanted to hit that kid who sprayed me- but I didn’t and offered it up). I want God to love me first- then for my peers to like me and want to be my friend.

It doesn’t help either that I myself feel that I’m a loser and that my aunt (who I live with) doesn’t support me in my faith nor does anyone in my family (who also makes fun of me and blasphemes against God in the most venomous ways to get to me).

I’m sorry my post is so long- but I really really need your prayers- I just feel like scum without any purpose for living.

St. Paul, who had an encounter with the Lord, prayed three times for relief of “thorns” that bothered him and the Lord said “my grace is sufficient”. The Lord is giving you just enough grace as to not impede your free will or faith. Keep offering it up and soldier on. You are not alone in this type of suffering. Praying for you. Tim

I will keep you in my prayers in this trying situation.

Try talking to your priest about this situation. There might be a youth group at your church that you can join so that you can find some other catholic friends to share your faith with.

Dear 031064,

I am praying for you, your family’s conversion, for the conversion of your very atheist bio teacher and for the healing of Mother Angelica and your good family friend.

From today’s Liturgy of the Hours:

Prayers and Intercessions

God has sent salvation to his people. Let us pray to him with joy:
  • Lord, you are our life
Blessed are you, Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, for in your compassion you have renewed us and given us living hope
by the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead.
You created man in your image and in Christ you renewed us:
shape us in the image of your Son.
Our hearts are wounded by envy and hate:
fill them with the love that comes from the Holy Spirit.
Give work to labourers today, bread to the hungry, consolation to the sad,
and grace and salvation to all men.

Our Father, who art in Heaven,
hallowed be thy name.
Thy kingdom come,
thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven.
Give us this day our daily bread,
and forgive us our trespasses
as we forgive those that trespass against us,
and lead us not into temptation,
but deliver us from evil.

Lord, give us true knowledge of our salvation,
so that freed from the hands of our enemies
we may serve you without fear all the days of our lives.

Through our Lord Jesus Christ, your Son,
who lives and reigns with you in the unity of the Holy Spirit,
God for ever and ever.
Amen.

teenage years are the roughest (probably more so for the atheist as he/she has no loving Lord to turn to), and i will pray that your faith carries you through these trying times. we all have our spiritual ups and downs, but hold on knowing that God has something super cool planned for you down the road.

Our Lady of Guadalupe,
Mystical Rose,
make intercession for holy Church,
protect the sovereign Pontiff,
help all those who invoke you in their necessities,
and since you are the ever Virgin Mary
and Mother of the true God,
obtain for us from your most holy Son
the grace of keeping our faith,
of sweet hope in the midst of the bitterness of life
of burning charity, and the precious gift
of final perseverance.

Amen.

What Tim said. You are definitely not alone. And you mentioned that you want God to love you. Oh, but He already does love you. More than you can ever know.

You are in my prayers. :byzsoc:

Praying for you, all made great comments. I agree that if your Church has youth group, might find some like minded people there. Also, teen years (for most of us anyway) did seem a bit tough socially. I hope and do believe it will get better for you…

Praying for you…

Dear soul, I will be away for three weeks but will be praying for you in your discouragement and disappointment. Maybe you need just to ‘be’ for a little while, just be you with Jesus and let Him gently lead you. Let Jesus give to others through you without exhausting yourself. Jesus please hold this exhausted, beautiful little soul in Your heart.

A couple of my prayers from such times

Jesus let us remain faithful though trials and losses that may shake our trust in You as attentive, loving God. For Jesus, how can we know what further dangers and evils might befall us or what good may be lost without Your grace and protection?

Saint Therese asked that if a father protects his child from breaking his leg, does he love him less than a father who allowed his fall but took tender care afterwards? We cannot know all good that has occurred or evil that might have happened had You not protected and blessed us. Thank You for safeguarding us!

I choose to continue following You for others’ sake as much as for mine. In Your loving mercy let this choice endure and triumph. I believe that it will and that Your blessings will bring about Your desires within the lives of those whom I love and serve. 2000

Forgive my unbelief
God, we humans feel need for practical alleviation in times of grief, difficulty and anxiety. When I am embroiled in grief, clasp me to Your heart.

When I am sad or unwell, when troubles beset my family or friends, when I make mistakes, and when the pain or sin of the world assails me, please lift my spirit with God’s love, and with the kindness of those whom God sends.

If in my sorrow I doubt Your mercy, please accept my heartache and tears as prayer for others. Forgive me if I feel anger or dismay, in my frustrated yearning for real help for loved ones in their genuine needs, difficulty and pain!

Please allow no one to suffer for my doubt, but give me faith to become a better vehicle of intercession and blessing for others. Give me remembrance always that I need not plead desperately for Your mercy but will open my heart to the flood of mercy that awaits my welcome. October 1999

Saint Padre Pio wrote, “Pray, hope and do not worry. Worry is useless. God is merciful and will hear your prayer.” Jesus told Saint Gertrude, “Confidence [trust] alone easily obtains all things.”
“It gives me great pleasure when persons hope great things from Me, and I will grant them more than they expect.” Inspire me to ask all You could hope and dream for in me, for mine and others’ souls and lives.

O Silent God
God, we pray to You for others and ourselves, and sometimes it seems, if only for a time, a time of awful pain and loneliness, that no one is listening, that You are not there

Many have turned away, disappointed and bitter, that You have not answered their urgent prayer, their painful need for self and for others. There is no satisfactory human answer to their challenge, whatever one might say of Your ways, Your time, because their anguish or their anger is the reality they experience.

Dear God, You need no reminder, but my humanness leads me to remind You that we are human in our minds and hearts and bodies. We have little or no actual sense or knowledge of ourselves as spirit.

If You do not touch us as human beings living in a physical world that we acutely experience, then who can blame anyone for losing faith and hope in You. I cannot blame those who do…but I pray for them with all my heart and life.

O silent God let us hear Your voice in the words of others, and let us be Your love spoken to them. Yet may I ask that You also speak directly to their hearts and minds with unmistakeable Love even where we cannot detect the action of Your Spirit in others. Speak to them in their last moments, if not before.

Please be mindful of our needs, and nurture us as we pray and seek Your healing and care. Embrace all who have lost their hope in God and prayer.

I am so sorry. I wish there was something I could say to you, but I fear that nothing will take the pain away. Please know that you are not alone. You are not alone. You are surrounded by a cloud of witnesses who pray for you day and night and who love you dearly.

I will pray that God sends you someone to share your youth with. I will also pray for the conversion of your family. Most of all I will pray for your peace of mind. The world needs you.

It is so hard to understand the “whys” of life sometimes. We hurt so badly and have to ask why circumstances of of lives bring us so much sadness, loneliness, and emtiness. At these darkest of times, it is so important to remember that God never deserts us, that he is with us always, and if we pause for a moment in our despair and be quiet, we can feel His presence. God sees you as perfect…as he made you. Try to begin to see yourself with the same kindness and with the same love that God has for you.

I will keep you in my prayers!!!

I’m glad you know there’s a larger family out there for you, including the heavenly cloud of witnesses, praying for you and rooting for you.

We on earth are the “Church Militant” – fighting so many battles day to day. You’re enduring battles with loneliness and insecurity about what God’s plan may be for you. You can win these battles eventually-- try to BE a friend to all, with no expectations, even toward your schoolmates who are unkind. Don’t preach at them – just BE. You’re not a loser. You are loved. Jesus is your most steadfast friend, every moment, and graces you in ways in may not realize. Hang in there. Keep praying, keep loving (and that includes yourself).

Praying for your peace of mind and happiness. Be strong, God loves you!

The saddest thing I read into your story is how so many teenagers don’t even know God. The best part is that you are here!!! You have entered an entire family of great “CATHOLIC” people!

We are here for you, so when ever you need prayer, please post. When ever you want to talk, just get online and here we are.

I’m praying for you right now.
