“Many souls go to Hell because they have no one to pray or make sacrifices for them.”

This Fatima quote kept coming to mind the other day, in a bout of repentance & depression. I am going to be laconic and straight to the point: I have… issues.

I’ve had basically untreatable severe depression for 16 years now, and as anyone with this problem knows, it has a way of making one self-sabotage in various ways (including sabotaging one’s spiritual life), despite what their heart desires. I’m more or less an isolated shut-in, it’s so shameful. I truly loath myself, but I am hungry for God’s love, and I want to be able to practice true love of God… As I am now, I am in enmity with Christ, in mortal sin. I wish it were not so…

Please pray that God give me a more pure mind. I have issues with sexual sin, drug addiction, impure recreational habits (I was a “metalhead” & atheist before God woke me up), sloth, keeping the sacraments, etc.

This post is really an act of desperation… The sorrow created by my sins kills me. I despair over the probability that God considers me His enemy.

Don’t get me wrong, I have been granted the graces to make some progress, but I have squandered much also. Sexual (self-abuse & pornography) and drug abuse-related sins in particular are difficult to overcome.

I wish I had a good traditional priest to confide in, but in my small local parish, we have only a liberal “merciful” priest, or so I would interpret his pastoral attitude in my interactions with him (I may be wrong).

Please pray for my family also.

Thank you,
“R”

Prayer for Repentance and Conversion

O God, in your great Mercy and Love, grant
that I may sincerely and thoroughly repent
from all my sins, and humbly and devoutly
receive your forgiveness through the Sacrament
of Reconciliation, and grant this same merciful
grace to other poor sinners, especially those
most in need of repentance and forgiveness.
Through Christ Our Lord, amen.

**A Prayer to Jesus **

Dear Lord, You are the Just judge, Holy and True.
You are the Most High God. You give us life.
You hold all power in your hands.
You are the Mighty one from God who carries
the world, and is ruler over all the earth.
You Oh Most Blessed One are the giver of life.

In You are only good things. In You is mercy
and love. In You is healing of the nations.
In You is freedom of worry and freedom of pain.
Lord Almighty, You love us so much.

You were sent from Your Father, sent to save us
from destruction. We truly can never make it
to Heaven without the help of Jesus the Son,
who was sent to earth to help us. You, Lord are
full of mercy and grace, please forgive us
for our faults. Lord Jesus, in you all healing
is performed. You Lord are the miracle worker.
In your Spirit, your gift of healing is alive.
In you Lord, we can put our trust that you
can heal us, and protect us from the enemy,
and death of our soul.

You, Lord are a miracle worker for the sick,
and for the lost souls. You, Lord forgive
us and save us from condemnation. You cleanse
us and make us born again new. You
give us a clean heart full of peace. You Lord are the Light.
In You is all truth. Your way Lord is the way
to Heavenly Hope. Your hands Lord created
the universe. You Lord are the True giver
of Life. Every child is a miracle of Life.

Life rests in Your Hands. Wrap us
as a close knit family, draw us near to you
Lord, and bind us with your Loving Hands.
Let us be drawn closer to You. You are the Vine,
dear Lord and we are the branches.
You carry all knowledge and all power.
You Lord are our medicine. Your Words Lord
are Truth and Life. Help us put our trust
in You. You Lord are the greatest physician.

You heal, You protect, You care, You love,
You are kind, You are patient, You are thoughtful,
You are strength. You Lord are our Creator.
You know our thoughts, our sighings
and our cryings and every hair on our head.
You are Wonderful and make all good things
for us. Heal us Lord, if it be Your will.

Amen.

I have depression as well. What God has done for me is that He’s used my depression as a means to get closer to Him. Whenever I feel sad, I know God is there and I know that He’s giving me a way out. My prayers are more passionate as a depressed person than they would be if I was healed completely. It’s thanks to depression that I have a closer relationship with God. That’s probably the reason why He hasn’t healed me of depression; it’s because He’s using that illness as an instrument to draw me closer to Him.

I’m praying for you. May God give you a way out.

Hail Mary,
Full of grace,
The Lord is with Thee.
Blessed art Thou amongst women,
and blessed is the fruit of Thy womb,
Jesus
Holy Mary,
Mother of God,
Pray for us sinners,
Now and at the hour of death,
Amen

Hi HummusAddict,

I’m so sorry for your struggles. 😦

Prayers said for your intentions.

May God bless you in your time of need.

I am about to say the Rosary for all intentions I have tagged on CAF Prayer Intentions today. Adding yours to the list. May God bless you and strengthen you.

Saint Michael, the archangel, defend us in battle, be our defense against the wickedness and snares of the devil, may God rebuke him, we humbly pray. And do you, O’ Prince of the Heavenly host, by the power of God thrust into Hell Satan and all the other evil spirits who prowl about the world for the ruin of souls.

Amen.

Our Father who art in Heaven, hallowed be thy name.

Thy kingdom come, thy will be done on Earth as it is in Heaven.

Give us this day our daily bread.

And forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us.

And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil.

Amen.
