Update: Insurance company said we can file an appeal, so we’re going to do that. We should have a decision in 10-14 days.
Thanks for all who prayed and please know that I have also prayed for each of you and will make all of you my Mass intention on Sunday.
Now a little housekeeping:
Please relax. I was replying to your request as stated.
I requested prayer, not judgment, and certainly not suspicion that my family wasn’t “up to snuff” if there was a stepparent situation.
His memory problems were the only thing mentioned.
He very rarely has memory issues any more, and this one surprised both of us. But brain injuries can be like that. I don’t think this was anybody’s fault – it was an unfortunate blip.
Your daughter was referred to as “your” daughter and I wondered if he might be her stepfather which sometimes makes a difference to the biological parent.
She
is my daughter. You were trying to read something into the situation, apparently to assess blame, which (a) I didn’t ask you to do and (b) nobody else felt the need to do and (c) isn’t your job.
I never said I wouldn’t pray.
You never said you would, either.
I know you are under stress and I pray you get the money you need.
Thanks. I have prayed for you also.
Also not being able to call from work was not mentioned.
I said I couldn’t do personal business while I am at the office, but it’s okay that you missed it.
My sister has bi-polar disorder, so I do understand the struggles that a person might face, and I also know how guilty feelings can be magnified, and I understand the temptation to look for negativity that comes with the disorder. It is a heavy cross to bear.
My husband felt awful about the situation yesterday, and despite my consternation, I gave him all the love and understanding and forgiveness that I could. We’ve been married 16 years and we’ve been through a lot of painful struggles, including temporary infertility and his brain injury, which changed his personality for a time and robbed my kids of their dad and me of my partner until he had time to heal. But “for better, for worse; for richer, for poorer; in sickness and in heath,” we’re in this together and I know we will find a way through with the help of God’s grace, even if our appeal is denied.
Thanks again, everybody.
