I went into the hospital on the 6th after I sent my last message. I have been having health issues myself related to vertigo and high blood pressure and suffered a fall . I got home yesterday but have ongoing issues with vertigo and other medical problems and will be receiving ongoing treatments on an outpatient basis.
Family and friends cared for little Kasey while I was hospitalized. He does seem to be doing much better and is obviously delighted that I am back at home. Since he is a Service dog, he was allowed to come to the hospital for a short visit. His veterinarian has been checking on him once or twice a day, by phone, to see how he is doing and to give instructions for his continuing care (even on his days off)!
Little Kasey seems much stronger, he is hungry and eating and drinking well and taking his medicine. He does still have the diagnosis of kidney failure and will also need ongoing treatment. One of his favorite resting spots is still at the foot of the manger scene with his head on the stuffed donkey at the feet of the doll representing the infant Jesus. His ST Francis medal arrived in the mail during my hospital stay and I will have a family member attach it to his collar. The weather has been very cold here and driving conditions rather treacherous at times, but if my health and the weather permits, little Kasey and I will try to attend worship services tomorrow with my family. I wish I could send messages to all who have been praying for us but I do not know how.
