Lord I place all my trust in You and pray that Your will be done as regards Tom.Lord please guide me to be a good mother.To know when to be firm and when to be loving.I pray Tom will be open to being guided by You and that he will make wise responsible decisions and change his behaviour and attitude.Thankyou Lord for Your many blessings for helping me get through each day and for hearing all our prayers.Amen

Dear Teresa,

I am so sorry to learn all this bad news about your son, Tom. My own son, also Tom (32), isn’t beyond causing similar worries. I am especially upset because he’s taken to mocking our beautiful Catholic religion and, sometimes, in “jesting” sounds almost blasphemous (I tell myself his secular colleagues are to blame and that, deep in his heart, his faith is still strong and true.

Then I pray that it is…and just keep on praying!)

Every day, Teresa, I pray for the intercession of Mother Mary, so that my prayers may be heard more clearly by God (even more important now that my voice is “broken” with MS).

I ask this of our Holy Mother – whose trust was so great she was able to place her precious son and herself in the care of good Joseph.

And I ask it of St. Monica, oh, most loving and patient of mothers… May you and I pray even a quarter as fervently as St. Monica did for Augustine and Teresa, then maybe our own sons will glorify the Lord, bring honour on His Church. God willing, yes!

No, I’m sorry (I’m just laughing in the face of adversity), I actually don’t feel very well tonight.

But I wanted you to know how much I care about you and what you are going through. My thoughts, prayers, and love, will be with you.

God bless you, Teresa, and your husband and Tom. And may the Holy Spirit shine His light of healing on all of you.

Father, I pray you will touch dear Teresa with the strength and guidance she needs to deal with this painful situation. Give her the words that will make a difference to her son. I pray that You will grant her the grace of inner Peace. Give her the patience she needs to cope with the burdens and anxieties of her life, and to be the kind of mother to Tom that he needs.
As You commanded the storm winds at sea to be calm, command the storms in Tom’s life to be calmed. Protect this young man, in spite of himself. And Lord, I pray for a miracle for Tom, that he will look to the Risen Christ for direction. Lord, there is nothing too hard for You. I pray for this hurting family.
