I continue to pray that he will be guided by You and will grow in a positive and responsible attitude about his life get a job and become a mature responsible adult.I pray he can get a rented home of his own and not cause disorder to our lives any longer.He has so many wonderful qualities but he has been so caught up in this young frame of mind of irresponsibility. Pour into his heart the Spirit of wisdom and understanding, the Spirit of counsel and spiritual strength, the Spirit of knowledge of You, the Risen Christ, who is all we will ever need. I am so sad as I write this.Tom has gone completely off the rails at present.I simply am at a loss with him. I won’t go into details but suffice as to say yet another visit to the police station for me today.Sat waiting for 6 hrs.Tom did not have the courtesy to let me know when he was released.He went off with friends to get drunk. I love him so much yet am so ashamed of him and do not like his behaviour at all. I so wish I was able to wash my hands of him at times…but of course I cannot, I love him he is my son. At times like this I often think of how God has to deal with us letting Him down time and again when we sin and how He never gives up on us. I am in awe of how God is so wonderful to forgive us our sins when we (the human race) do such terrible things to one another and He has such patience.I strive to constantly have that same patience and forgiveness and give guidance and leadership…so difficult being a parent of a young adult who is so rebellious.
May God guide me and grant me the strength and calmness to cope.
I place all my trust in God that His will be done for Tom.
