cccIf we turn away from evil out of fear of punishment, we are in the position of slaves. If we pursue the enticement of wages, . . . we resemble mercenaries. Finally if we obey for the sake of the good itself and out of love for him who commands . . . we are in the position of children.
… If we do all that could please God, in littleness or in greatness, without even having Him uttering a request… we are lovers.

Sister Moon,

I still feel an attachement to Rosaries and especially my great grand fathers Rosary. I don’t feel that this attachement is in anyway wrong because it brings me closer to Jesus. Of course I don’t expect to see my Rosaries in Heaven. I was just stating that some attachments are good. I also have an attachment to the Blessed Sacrament and no one would question this one. But who knows maybe Rosaries are in Heaven. Have you been there to see?

Dear Lord! The Blessed Sacrament is the very Body and Blood, Soul and Divinity of Our Lord; it is He himself. Of course, there is nothing wrong with that. OK, as long as whatever you are “attached” to brings you closer to Our Lord, there’s nothing wrong with that. By the way, I don’t think your rosaries would do you any good in Heaven; you’ll have God Himself. I don’t need to die and go to heaven to check it out. I know it from the heart!

Everytime I get attached to something, someone seems to need it worse than me.

I was in a Catholic Bookstore one day, and the clerk, who I barely knew asked me to go over and speak to a woman who was in tears.

I did so, and as it turned out, she was desperate to find a rosary for her brother who was dying. A very old style one, which they no longer carried. I reached in my pocket, and there was the very Rosary (and my favorite of course which I had carried for years.) I gave it to her.

The Lord will move us to give up things sometimes. But he returns them 7 fold. I could not afford a new Rosary to replace it, but within a short time, a friend, who knew nothing of my giving away my only rosary, handed me a new one. She had been to Rome and said she felt moved to buy it for me. And yes, it was the same day I gave mine away. To add to the surprise, it had been Blessed by JPII that very day in his audience.

Wow! What a testimony!! God is great.
Thanks for sharing. God bless!

passioncrossluv,

The last part of what I said was a joke. I don’t really think rosarys are in heaven.

Who knows. We might all be surprised. I just hope they have Chocolate.😃

I have lost every single prayer rope that I’ve had!

One was actually Sufi, and not Eastern Orthodox - but it was rosewood and so comfy and had 33 beads, just like Orthodox ones! I loved it!

One was from Mt. Athos - a gift from my ‘kuma’s’ (I was ‘best (wo)man’ at her wedding) father, a monk there.

One was a gift from my friend - it used to be her grandmother’s, and she was a nun and used to pray with it…

I was actually expecting to get a ‘special’ one again… and waiting… and then I just bought an ‘ordinary’ prayer rope at the local church 🤷 😉

As I mentioned when this thread was started, I still think detachment from creatures (people) is our greatest test. Tim
