First off, MERRY CHRISTMAS 🙂 I’m new around 😃

Now for the question. Your friend gets angry at you because you try to talk to her about something she messed up (say, she unknowingly deleted something important in the computer.) So you call someone and tell him about what she did. Is this detraction? And, is it mortal sin? Thanks. 🙂

Don’t know, but Welcome and Merry Christmas!

Merry Christmas to you, too.

As to your question it would depend upon the spirit in which you called this other person. If you totally set out to destroy the character of your friend for making an honest mistake…that’s pretty mean. If you call up someone else just to whine and vent frustration, it’s probably not as serious. Before you call anyone you should probably forgive your friend and tell her what she did to make you angry so she can have the opportunity to make amends.

Did the one you called need to know this, or can he repair the problem?
