Detroit ladies- join us at the Women's Conference!

Hi all,

Monicatholic and I are planning to attend the Archdiocese of Detroit’s Catholic Women’s Conference on Saturday, Oct. 25 of this year. Registration before October 1st is $40 for adults, $30 for students, and $20 for women in religious orders. Sign up now because all prices increase by $5 after October 1st.

I attended this two years ago and had an amazing day. C’mon out and meet me and Monica, and hundreds of your fellow sisters in faith!
 
and i’m not divulging any secrets, yet, BUT i may have the privilege of driving in with a CAF favorite. i won’t mention her name just yet, as it’s not all settled, but she’s a yummy dessert you eat with a spoon!

and wouldn’t i just love to meet her baby!!

and this is an invitation to any of you regular CAF gals: if you’re driving in from a distance, you’re invited to come spend the night on Friday (before the conference) and Saturday (after the conference if that suits your needs).

i think a Catholic women’s conference should be welcoming to nursing babies so long as moms were respectful of others so if you have a nursing baby, s/he is, of course, invited to spend the night, too!

Yep, there were definitely moms with babies at the conference in '06. 👍

I’m trying to figure out who the mystery CAFer is. I’m blanking out completely, and I know when I hear it, I’ll have a great big “D’oh!” moment.
 
and our mystery gal just emailed me and it looks like we have a plan!!! but i’ll let her tell.

Cool- maybe I’ll make up a sign that says “CAFers Here!”, or at least wear something really visible, like a bright red sweater. Of course, I’m only 5’ tall so it’s not like I’ll be visible through the crowd regardless. We’ll figure out a meet-up point later on.

I wish I could extend an invite to house someone but we really don’t have much space here. 😦
 
Bishop Flores is a wonderful man, I had the great opportunity to meet him when he came to hang out at Saint Michael’s Media shortly after he came to Michigan. He truly is a very holy man - we are fortunate to have him.

I’ll have to keep this in mind, I would love to go, but I am pretty sure that is the same weekend I was planning to go on retreat in Oxford for the weekend - I’ll have to check.

I REALLY REALLY want to go to this one!!! Even DH wants to go! And our friend, Vic Faust, is the Master of Ceremonies which is makes it even more cool! 😃

So many wonderful events - not nearly enough time!!!

BUMP- for any ladies who would like to join the CAF “delegation”, now’s your chance. You’ve still got two weeks before the prices increase by $5 a pop.

Let us know if you’re going so we can all meet up (and maybe carpool). I haven’t decided yet which obnoxiously bright article of clothing to wear for crowd visibility.
 
I’M SO EXCITED - I’ve heard Bishop Flores talk at “The Call to Holiness” Seminar last year, he almost croons the word of God to us. And lizanne, I love “One True Faith” with Michael Vorhis (sp?). He helped teach me RCIA at Shire of the Little Flower - talk about an amazing instructor…Amazing.

I’m willing to drive (I have a four door sedan) and live in Canton…
