Please we respect the sinner but not the sin, they have to understand that.

I just stumbled across this editorial article and thought it might be of interest:

detnews.com/2005/editorial/0505/23/A11-189650.htm
The paper made a little “stink” about the columnist when she(?) joined the paper… all her articles are from her gay perspective. I counted at least 6 outlandish statements in this article alone.

no wonder our priests and bishops need prayer… to address this **** and stay strong in the faith and the teaching of the faith

…i guess you can’t blame them for what they “think they believe”…😦

…i doubt they will ever understand that they are fighting a lost cause…😦

But many of them reject that. They say to hate the “sin” is to hate them.

If you have seen Colonial House on PBS. One of the guys who was a servant came out in one of the episodes. Not only did he come out but they let him do so during the Sabbath service, it was disgusting. One of the lines he said, “I know many christians say that they hate the sin but lover the sinner, well I do not accept that.” (or something along those lines)

Most, if not all, of them do not see homosexuality as a sin anyways.

This is why I do not purchase either of the Detroit newspapers. In addition to rampant editorial mistakes, they regularly and inadvertantly demonstrate their ignorance of Catholicism.

For example, it would seem to a frequent reader that Detroit (Auxiliary) Bishop Thomas Gumbleton is a paid contributor to the Free Press, based upon the frequency with which his manipulative and subversive letters are published.

What I don’t understand is why the subject of this article continues to call himself Catholic. Instead of being obedient to the faith he seems to want to change it to his needs or wants. Never mind what the BIBLE says!!! Next thing you know these same people will want to re-write it based on their own desires. When are people going to understand that it’s not about what WE want!!!

This article sickens me.

This article is a perfect example of the media bias/attack against the Church for upholding morality and traditional family values—hard to take them seriously. The problem is that the guy unfortunately went to Dignity (oxymoron) for his spiritual “lifeline”, instead of to the Courage apostolate. What is the saying, “The highway to hell is paved with good intentions”?
