Strange that he should use Yves Congar as an excuse for not evangelizing. As far as I know, Congar, a French theologian was a staunch traditionalist. Unfortunately, this priest doesn’t think much of what our Lord said regarding this matter.
Matt. 28:18-20 clearly states:
Then Jesus approached and said to them, "All power in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Go, therefore, and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the holy Spirit, **teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you.**This does NOT mean that we are to sit around on our collective duffs as observers of the faith. We are to live the faith and engage others as active participants. Jesus didn’t say, "Go, therefore and sit around and wait for my return."Tell your preist that Jesus died for him. He paid the ultimate price for his soul. The least he can do is to obey Him.“Ignorance of the Scriptures is ignorance of Christ.” - St. Jerome
